I got an e-mail from the owner of this new website, CheapAssTrades.com.  From the looks of it, you can get some...cheap ass trade paperbacks.  There's some really good deals.  You might not find a book that just came out this week but I'm sure there's a ton of books that you've been meaning to read and never got around to it.
CheapAssTrades.com, a price comparison web site specializing in trade paperbacks and graphic novels, has recently been released from initial development and is now available online.  Comparing information from numerous online retailers, marketplaces and comic specialty stores, the web site provides comic and graphic novel readers an easy way to find the best price for over 5,000 different trade paperbacks, digests and hardcover editions.

As I just got information about this site today, I can't really vouch for them.  So if you give it a shot, definitely let us know how it went.  The way it seems to work is they gather a list of the cheapest deals online with different sellers and present them here.  So they're not the ones actually doing the selling.  Sounds kind of like a pricegrabber for comics.  I'll have to look into it when I get a chance.

I'm glad my comic shop already sells cheap ass trades
I was in the comic shop yesterday..saw the whole Black Panther collection, including trades for 20 bucks.I also got A Ms.Marvel trade and the Origin of Spider-Woman signed by Brian Reed for 3 bucks a piece.
Waiting for comics in the mail is excruciating.

There's even some .01 cent trades.  I saw some of the Marvel Essentials for under five bucks.  Shipping will obviously factor a little into the final price but it still sounds like a good thing.

I prefer the "40 years of _______" DVD-Roms. Why buy trades and Essental books If I can by an entire series for around fourty bucks?

Maybe it's an 'old fashioned' thing but I guess there's something about having a physical comic versus a digital one (although I am digging the new iTunes ones that have been coming out).  I bought the Mad Magazine digital comics some time back that had the first 500 (I think) issues but didn't get very far with the reading.  At least it came with a mouse pad and a roll of Mad toilet paper.  I guess  being pinned to your computer in order to read is a factor for me.

And after you read, you can add info the character pages and get more points.  It's all a win-win-win situation.
