We've been wondering what Fox would be doing with the X-Men franchise next.  The way their current deal works is as long as they keep making movies, they keep the rights.  Despite some criticism from comic fans, X-Men Origins: Wolverine was pretty successful.  We'll eventually see a Deadpool movie, perhaps after Ryan Reynolds finishes Green Lantern.  The Wolverine sequel seems to have stalled a little.  Magneto Origins?  Who knows.  What about all the talk we had over X-Men: First Class?

Looks like First Class will be the next X-Men movie we see.  Superherohype reported on an interview with director Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns) at the premiere for James Cameron's Avatar.  On one of the videos on the Official Avatar Myspace page, at just past the 27 minute mark, Singer reveals his next projects.

Singer mentions that his next movie will be Jack The Giant Killer and also that he just signed a deal to do "an X-Men First Class Origins picture."  Singer has expressed interest in the movie before.  Guess he just can't stay away from the mutants.

Does the news of Singer back with the X-Men get you excited or would you rather see someone else handle the X-Men?

Update: Here's the video, it's been marked at the point where Singer starts talking about his next projects.
