When I first heard about this movie I went nuts, John Carter is probably my favorite scifi character. But after some of the more recent trailers I have my worries about the movie. For starters the Martians never called Earth, Earth. Also who or what is attacking Mars? I am still really excited for this movie and will go see it, there just might be some stuff I am going to have to over look, unless it completely goes against the books and source material.

I wish I was going to the midnight screening to get this.... Unfortunately, I have mixed feelings on this movie.

What's the Imperial City doing there? Or what's Isengard doing there?

Really awesome btw. Truly breathtaking.

It is beautiful. I've always been curious why John Carter of Mars gets so much hate but that's another issue.

i researched the character and it got me a bit amped. im not sure if it will be good, but it is certainly an interesting story.

I haven't seen a movie poster this epic looking since the 80's.  Most of today's poster focus on the title or the actors in the movie. But this is an instant classic.

@Nova`Prime`: It's been years (okay I mean decades) since I've read the John Carter series - and I've been wrecking my brain trying to remember an advancing army that was going to destroy Mars and move on to Earth - and hell if I can remember that bit. I also remember that they had advanced technology, but not inter-planetary. I always remembered the struggles being between the different species of Mars and different Dynasties...so the question: was there or wasn't there an advancing army?

goldenkeyon Feb. 23, 2012 at 9:45 a.m.

Who hell is John Carter?

KidSupremeon Feb. 23, 2012 at 11:43 a.m.

Beautiful artwork

This probably as close as it gets to Edgar Rice Burroughs trilogy, Thuvia #4 was barely passable, the other 7 sere a bit like an afterthought, if you read Princes Of Mars, Gods Of Mars and Warlord Of Mars there's far more parallel to the Iliad and the Odyssey than Avatar, he was not expected to be a Messiah - SMDH, he was in love and missed his wife!

Dig Deeper into John Carter

John Carter is a confederate Civil War veteran and gold-miner who is transported to Mars (Barsoom) and through the course of his adventures becomes a hero and Prince on the planet.
