This has got to be the best news I've heard all week.  Warner Bros just got the rights to do a Bone movie.  This is based on the awesome comic by Jeff Smith.  I've been reading them to my daughter later.  We're just over half way through the series.  Good times.  Hopefully they'll do the right thing and make it animated and not live action.  Nickelodeon was supposed to make a movie some time ago but it never went anywhere. 

The Hollywood Reporter had this to say:

The fantasy series followed three cousins from the Bone family who are small, white and bald humanlike creatures with big noses. The trio are run out of their hometown and find themselves in a mysterious valley where they are separated and hunted by other creatures. They are taken in by a girl named Thorn and her grandmother, and find out that the valley is threatened by an evil force called the Lord of the Locusts.

A decision on what kind of format "Bone" should take -- live-action or animated or both -- will be based on filmmaker meetings.

What decision is there to make?  Live action just wouldn't work.  Please please don't mess this up.

Deal is a mid-six-figure option against seven figures for purchase. Property, described as Bugs Bunny meets "The Lord of the Rings," likely will be developed as a CG toon for a broad family aud, but could turn into a live-action pic, depending on the director it eventually attracts.

"CG toon"?  I don't know.  That'd be better than live action but Bone just seems it should be animated with lots of nice colors.  I really hope Warner Bros. gets some immediate action going on this.  I can't wait now.
