Batman: Year One Trailer and Images

The classic Batman story will soon be an animated film.

When it comes to Batman, there are certain stories that truly deserve to be read. Recently, one of our engineers was looking to read some comics and obviously had an interest in Batman. Frank Miller's Batman: Year One is an important arc that every Bat-fan should read.

Hopefully you are aware by now that the next DC Animated movie will be based on Year One. Bruce Timm mentioned on the First Look special feature on Green Lantern: Emerald Knights that it would be a true adaptation and it will be translated almost word for word. MTV has an exclusive first look at the trailer (it should be posted on our video player next week). Check it out.

My first impressions are I'm not so sure about Ben McKenzie as Batman. I'm not one of those that says only Kevin Conroy can voice Batman. I think the trailer is too much of a speech and I'd have to see/hear him in the actual movie. The animation is a little weird. It's good but doesn't scream "Batman: Year One" to me.

What I am excited about is the fact that this is getting made and that Eliza Dushku is voicing Catwoman. Also, don't forget Catwoman is even getting an animated short when this is released on Blu-ray, DVD, OnDemand, etc.

While the trailer might not be available worldwide, here's some screen caps below to tide you over until WB sends us a copy.
