People seemed happy with Judd Winick's take on Dick being Batman in issue #687.  With the next issue, #688, Mark Bagley begins a four-issue arc.  The guy is an amazing artist.  What's interesting here is we see Dick getting his rear handed to him by a mysterious figure.

Who do you think it is?  It's obviously someone with access to the Batcave.  What do you think of Bagley's take on Dick wearing the cowl?  What do you think of Judd's take versus Grant Morrison's?

Here's a preview from DC.

There may be a new Batman in Gotham City, but that doesn't mean the city wants him. As Two-Face and Penguin take measures to keep the new Dark Knight at bay, one of the archvillains makes a startling discovery about the new Caped Crusader. Plus, Batman trains the new Robin, and Mark Bagley starts a 4-issue stint as guest artist!

Bloody hell...

I want to say Deathstroke is the one giving the beating... but my gut is saying David Cain...

This silhuette in page 2 cleary shows a male in a suit type outfit... and that says Cain to me more than Deathstroke...

Nowhere near

David Cain is one of the most dangerous assasins in the DCU... and one of the very few people that actually trained Batman originally... he's responsable for Batgirl's training, not to mention being her father... and is one of the few people that have tangled with Superman and walked away unharmed or unprosecuted

Monica Pearson is actually a Lead Anchorwoman on Channel 2 news down here. She's the last person I thought I'd see in a comic book lol. I'll take the high road and stay away from the Dick jokes lol.

Wow, Dick really taking a beating. I never seen a beating like that since I saw Superman fighting Doomsday when they first met. I'm thinking the person that is beating up Dick is Solomon Grundy seeeing how the person is wearing a suit and has grey skin.

the guy is to small to be grundy but who said the guy fighting dick was a villian? maybe, maybe not, after thinking about it there's not a lot of bat-villians who could take dick in a h2h fight.
