Batgirl #5 Cover Revealed
Is her new costume growing on you yet?
When we first saw the new Batgirl's new costume (with purple accents), I wasn't exactly thrilled. While I haven't seen her wearing it in action just yet, I might be willing to change my mind. If she is serious about taking on this identity, I suppose she should make the role hers. We've had some other Batgirls in the past and now Stephanie has some big boots to fill. It makes sense that she should add in some of her own identity into the costume and persona if this is what we're going to be stuck with for now.

I like the costume and so far I like Steph as Batgirl. New issue today, can't wait to get off work.

I like it. I think its fine for Artest and Writer to merge the outfits. it makes it more personal.

Still not crazy about the thigh pouches.
Most comic art is as good as the creative team who make it. You can rely on Phil Noto to make with the eye candy, but even he seems to be struggling with the outfit. But that outfit looks out-dated. Dragged out of the mid-90's. Even someone with a modern style struggles with the padded purple side panels, and the utility-garter. It looks a bit like her cape is on fire ;)

I think plenty of readers aren't too happy with the whole thigh pouch belt. I concur. I can live with the rest of the design, after all they want to make her appear a little different than the other Batgirls, so the simple addition of the purple side seam is OK by me.
I do prefer Cassandra. Hard to surpass that character. Hopefully this is temporary, just like Dick as Batman. I have a feeling we will see a Batman VS. Batman/ Batgirl VS. Batgirl scenario in the near future when Daddy Bruce shows up.

I'm not a fan of the purple on the sides. It reminds me of socks.
