Primarily known as a newspaper publisher, like several of its rivals (cf Beaverbrook) News of the World also tried its hand at publishing comics during the 1950s. It was the original publisher of TV Comic, and also released the short lived "space age weekly" Rocket, which was edited by popular World War II fighter pilot Douglas Bader. Meanwhile, like other papers, the News of the World paper itself also carried strips, most notably Spotlight on Sally by Arthur Ferrier.
