I understand that New York maybe the most well known city in the U.S. but, does every superhero and their mother have to live there? It seems that aliens and hell like NYC too because every invasion, biblical, apocalyptic situation seems to start/end there. I know what some will say. "Batman can't crawl around in the shadows of Sin City because with all the light it's practically shadowless."Spiderman couldn't survive Wyoming he'd die of boredom." That being said clearly the villains (the smart ones anyway) would move to avoid such superhero clusters. I mean you wouldn't move into a neighborhood with a meth lab next door. So why would you move to Metropolis to start up your drug empire? Is it the thrill? Is it for the opportunity to tell your furture prison pals that you got your ass handed to you by Superman? THE SUPERMAN!?! Does the west coast not present enough danger for the likes of the average superhero? I'd assume that the amateur superhero would start out some place small where they could make a name for themselves and then get drafted into the big leauges. So what do you guys/gals think? What city/state needs some superhero representation?
@Evil Incarnate: The most simplistic way to answer your question--- "write about what you know". Marvel's HQ is located in the city, after all. While I agree NYC is massively overexposed, we see a fair amount of activity elsewhere. The X-Men are in California, Civil War began in Connecticut, so on and so on.
