    nothing to die over

kidding aside, and with the exception of featuring less NXM than the title probably should - i gotta love this issue for a number of reasons. Art, of course. Ramos builds the clutter of a stage play into a violent storm of...um - fighting! alotta plot threads tangle into a battle that we all knew was coming. and a few threads are dismembered before this (last) issue of NXM closes. the only downside is that theres too much safely-tucked-away moments with Rogues coma-onlookers. the final page is a great way to close the chapter on this title. and theres no love lost that the students make their way into the battle.

theres clearly another chapter to be told in the X-over - but having a say in the first half / possibly stemming the tide for the last half? thats a great salute to the title. ive read alot about the repetitive nature of Cable, spilling out of this conflict..into the next 2 years. kinda wish the title coulda included the kids there. there are some parallels to draw from the latest (maybe last) mutant birth, and the latest/last class. but i can see how Cable needed to break out of co-opting titlehood.

back to topic : the students do manage to make fine use of their limited page count here, rushing off as they tend to do alot. theyre still sporting the new dress code too..and theyve manage to live throughout the entire crossover(?!)

sure its the end, but its nothing to die over.
here and there, island life cant be so bad ...
unless youre still one of the former NXM !!
