"The Amazing Spider-Man" New Ways to Die
Norman Osborn finally sets his target on Spider-Man since Brand New Day started. Spider-Man faces off against the Thunderbolts and meets a new character, Anti-Venom.
Starts today
This is gonna be good. Norman Osborn is finally appearing since Brand New Day started. We'll also finally get to see what the heck Anti-Venom is about.
Agh! I want it but I don't know if I'm able to get it! Still need to pick up ASM #567 and Secret Invasion #5 now I need to add this to my "I NEED to get but don't know if I'm able to" list.
TINY SPOILERS
Okay I just read the issue. Does anyone else besides me think the Anti-Venom page will have to be deleted? Looked to me like he's an existing character...
Yeah, I suppose. The story was great so far though.
Darn you G-man for making this page! I made one in the Spidey forums! lol Its alright.

I haven't read it yet, but I've been thinking lately, and my suspicion is that pete roommate the cop is Anti-Venom.
"Yeah, I suppose. The story was great so far though. My bad. I noticed it after I made this thread. I just got too excited after posting the news bit along with the variant covers.

I think all Anti-Venom talk should go in this thread or maybe just a new one in the New Ways to Die forum. I'm thinking Anti-Venom's page will be deleted.
Do you really want to know who Anti-Venom is?
I don't want to spoil it for you.
BTW, G-Man, did you enjoy yhe issue as much as I did?
Yeah it was good. A lot happened. It was a good set up for things to come. It's interesting how Frontline is going to play a bigger part now. That was classic. My only slight problem is John Romita Jr's art. It's good and I respect him and all. He's just not my absolute favorite artist. He has evolved and grown as an artist though.
I used to not be able to stand his art. Too many lines and rough edges. Sometimes the women looked like they had facial hair or something. He has gotten a lot better. I'm not trying to put him down or anything. He has grown on me. Like in Kick-Ass, his style really works. I used to groan when I say he was on a book but now I don't even give it a second thought.
Yes he is good. I wasn't expecting a sell out for the book, since so many people complain about it! Thats good.
Villains:
Thunderbolts (all)
Anti-Venom
Menace

Oh my god! I just read it and it was brilliant, I love the art and I love the writing, can't wait until Anti-Venom!!!

Peter Parker's life is about to get a whole lot worse. As if every day crime-fighting and bill-paying weren't enough, Norman Osborn has returned to town, and it appears that he knows that Peter is Spider-Man. With the Thunderbolts in tow, Osborn stands to destroy Peter's brand new life.
This Friday, IGN will be hosting the second installment of its exclusive Spider-Man interview series, Web Lines. Steve Wacker will be returning to the spotlight to answer some questions drafted both by IGN's crew as well as readers who wrote in. Have some questions of your own?
Its worth it. The second part comes out tomorrow so hurry!!!
My stupid pics are blocked so I'll try to find some more.
Paranoid speculation time: theory 1. anti-venom is working for the thunder bolts then that makes him spidermans enemy who is working with Venom? 2. Anti-venom hates and wants to kill venom and spiderman so is working solo? 3. Anti-venom looks like a symbiote host but we don't know for sure...
COMPLETE AND TOTAL WHAT-IF CONCEPT: for anyone who gets me in Venom-on trial you know the police chief who wanted him persecuted but never got his wish for revenge of his murdered son? maybe he is anti-Venom... Hey it is a good theory well just have to wait tho.......... DAMN YOU MARVEL

"danhimself said:"did it seem like pete new about the whole mephesto thing to anybody else?"
Yea, it did. That was confusing me."
just some of the comments he made like how he was relieved that norman had forgotten his secret identity like everyone else.....but there is a gap between one more day ending and brand new day beginning so maybe mephesto made it seem like there was an event that took place where everyone's memory got whiped
Well here is something to sate your wait:

NEW WAYS TO DIE PART 3: It's the Spider-Fight of the century: SPIDER-MAN versus VENOM versus ANTI-VENOM! Who will be the last web-slinger standing? The guy with radioactive spider-blood? The man with the original symbiote? Or...hold on...just who or what is Anti-Venom anyway?!
Also: a regular Spidey cast member falls prey to Menace! And Aunt May sees a suspiciously secret side of the F.E.A.S.T. center...
Editor's Note: We originally mentioned our Q&A article would hit last Friday. The volume of questions we asked are taking a little longer than expected, but Spider-Man editor Steve Wacker passed along a few as a preview of what's to come. Enjoy!
Jason asks: "Steve, I am a big MJ fan. I loved the marriage but I am sticking with the comic because I love spidey. Past writers have seemed to struggle with how to portray MJ. How do you see MJ in BND and will she be a more complex character?
Wacker: I find MJ to be a pretty rich character and definitely one of the most interesting civilian characters in comics. For much of the character's existence we only really got to know her through the connections with the men in her life and whatever sexy outfit she wore that day.
However, JMS in his run really spent some time fleshing her out and expanding on her career as an actress and letting us see some of the things that drove her. I loved what was done with her think there's even more to be done in that direction.
Vlaz asks: "My question is simple, and is really just a Yes or No. At the end of One More Day, Mary Jane whispered something to Mephisto. Will that secret conversation ever be revealed?"
Wacker: Sorry. Can't give you a simple answer. You may want to read Marvel Apes #1.*
* -You won't find out anything about the whisper, but you may want to read it.
Tony asked about 500 questions, but one stood out: "Will there be a new Sinister Six?"
Wacker: Not even close.
Pablo has a comment: "As a fan of the slightly more mature and wiser Peter Parker that was portrayed so well by JMS, Paul Jenkins, and others over the last few years, my main problem with BND so far has been Peter's immaturity and endless streak of bad decisions. It sometimes feels like I am reading about a rookie superhero in the Initiative instead of the superhero Steve Rogers once thought so highly of and trusted with his life."
Rob adds: "I'm feeling that Spidey's being portrayed as a bit of a doofus in order to inject a sense of playfulness and fun into the book. I don't need Spidey to be a flawless, square-jawed, dare-I-say-it DC Comics type of superhero. But I do want him to be good at his calling. And then, despite the fact that he saves the day, the Parker Luck intervenes to prevent him from reaping the rewards."
For this question Steve brought in Spider-Man Executive Editor Tom Brevoort.
Brevoort: Pablo, Rob, I don't disagree, except that I think that's what we've been doing. I don't feel we've been characterizing either Pete or Spidey as a doofus, or inexperienced, or incompetent. But it's absolutely in character for Peter Parker to make bad choices, in my opinion, either because the needs of the moment outweigh his better judgment, or because in trying to balance his Spidey life with his regular life he's forced to make compromises.
