I liked it and I want to see where it goes....I liked their costumes it's nice to see a team with some cohesiveness to their costumes not just whatever they want to wear....i won't spoil it since G-Man didn't but has the returning character been seen since the end of AoA?

There's a possiblity that there's more to the title "NEW MUTANTS" than we think this go around.  XI'AN is trying to talk to this young girl to whom we've never seen before.  Could you consider this little girl a "new mutant"?  And as far as the character returning on the last page, he's a heavy-hitter that was taken out of continuity I think because he was too powerful.  What kind damage is he going to do now?  I want to see the Siege Perilous return, feel me?  I want this team to be Scott's recruiters.  Scott has a lot on his plate and this can be his team to explore new mutant activity through out the world.

I thought this issue was a very good way to reintro the original team. Now, we've seen Dani Moonstar on the cover of an upcoming issue.  What about Cypher and Warlock?  They made the Kubert cover with the new outfits, will they be involved?  I would almost think they'd have to be reconned/brought back to life somehow.

I think maybe you're right, G-Man.  I just wonder if "Mr. Spoiler" is going to be working alone?

The title of this made me think of Nobody's The NEW Blog.  Yeah, they're not "New" anymore, but what else are you going to call them?  "The Mutants" could be anybody, while X-Force is now taken...

I'm not crazy about the return to yellow & black outfits.  They're all grown up, and what do they do... start wearing something based on their old school uniforms??  And Pix has already said what I feel about Amara & Manny, and Cannonball's new douchebag attitude towards his brother's team-mates. 

I think 3.5 is more than I would have given it.  It show some promise, but so far it's lacking.  Bad characterisation, and terrible designs left me feeling a little disappointed. 

Still... the cliffhanger ending does leave me wanting more!  I guess when the plot starts to unravel it'll be more interesting.  And I'm pleased I've finally got my hands on the Benjamin variant. 

Oh don't feel bad!  I think I hyped myself up too much, that it couldn't possibly live up to the standards of the first series.  Although saying that, the last 2 mini series were bad bad bad, so I don't know why I was expecting a return to the old days.  So that's my own fault really.

But the plot dragged on.  And I really hated most of the characterisation... ESPECIALLY Cannonball... After being an arsehole to the New/Young X-Men he then goes snivelling to Cyclops to beg permission to put a team together.  Who is this slimey toad that belittles those younger than him but brown-noses to Cyclops as if he owns his ass?  Since when did Cyclops become their boss? 

And since when did the New Mutants need a plane and a car?  They have a teleporter!!  They used to jump around the world in an afternoon because Warlock & the Impossible Man would get into a friendly fight.  Now they need regular transport?  And image inducers??  What's wrong with a good old fashioned change of clothes?  I dunno.  I think I've got a screw loose somewhere.  After all, I can suspend my disbelief that a solar powered man can lift a car, or a half-demon girl can teleport to Limbo... but I don't see the logic in them needing a plane, or image inducers :p

Karma failed big time, but she's not really tried much in the way of telepathic contact.  It's good to see her extending her powers... although I suspect that the little girl might be one of David's new personalities.  Since Meggan put Cyndi & the others to rest, maybe he's developed new ones??  If he has new multiple personalities, then maybe he has new powers too?

Um... I think his mother is Gabrielle Haller.  Although I haven't seen or heard anything about her (or Sharon) for donkeys years.

I got the impression that Karma was talking to the girl in some sort of psychic environment.  And she said that they always come for new people... so she's seen the monsters before.  Unless the monsters always represent people in the real world who are chasing her?  I was thinking that the original Legion was filled with a legion of demons, so maybe this is a new personality who is suppressed by the psychological demons of David's other personalities/traumatised past?  There's a lot for the writers to play with... I hope it all makes sense when the mystery is revealed :)

Too right about the P-Listers.  Still, I miss them.  I remember that Sharon & Tom were somehow transformed or hurt by the Demon Bear, and I remember them working at the School as non-mutant staff.  They were hideously under-used.  Maybe they were there when Legion first appeared or tortured by him?  I really should go back & re-read those old issues.

I think this series is pretty interesting. It's one of the few X-Men related books that have piqued my interest as of late.

This was an awesome issue, I really enjoyed going back to the old days with this. Been STOKED when I first got wind of this from a comment PIX made few months ago. Really cant say how much i am  waiting for the next issue but i really will be reading this, especially with the end it was WOAH!
