Dani Moonstar, one-time student of Professor Xavier, finds herself recruiting for his school for young mutants! But does she even believe that Professor X's school is the best place for these lost souls she's trying to help?

We meet Laurie Collins, a shy mutant girl. She is a student at Xavier's to learn how to control her powers. She keeps to herself mostly and shuns any contact with other people.

Meanwhile Sophia Mantega arrives to enrole in the school. She's given the tour of the campus by none other than Charles Xavier himself. She meets Julian Keller who show's her around a bit. She also meets a bunch of the students and she seems interested in the quiet and lonesome Laurie. Sophia becomes Laurie's new roommate. The pair up was designed to help Laurie open up, and it works right from the begining. Since Sophia controls the wind she can shield herself from Collin's pheromones which she cannot yet control. That allows Laurie to lower her guard and they become friends.

Charles Xavier offers Danielle Moonstar a job as part of the faculty, she says that she's not sure to be cut out for teaching, but that she's willing to recruit for the school.
