Created by Jack Kirby, The New Gods are ruled by the wise and benevolent High Father on the planet New Genesis while minions exist only to serve the dictator Darkseid on the twin planet Apokolips.
I hope they all live and a talented writer/artist team start delving into their stories. To me they are the most untapped potential the DCU has. To date they have been depicted in a weird tongue in cheek way where the culture is like a twisted episode of leave it to Beaver or Patty Duke. And the abilities of key characters are vague and somewhat mundane. I think these issues should b e rattified and resolved before DC even thinks about killing any of 'em.

Excellent point.
For far too long these characters have been reduced to playing second fiddle to many other less interesting characters. I wish that their potential could be fufilled as they literally offer galaxywide story options.
Yes indeed. They are being done away with I read because Kirby's vision off the fourth world has yet to be sucessfully interpreted. I feel they should give it another try. With the ambiguity of the New Gods a gifted scribe and artist could make a them really matter. But in all honesty I think that is what this death of the New AGods is gonna end up being.
