Plot Summary

Overview

It’s time to Assemble–and Roll Out! What in the world could unite Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Autobots? Maybe the Decepticons and Dr. Doom know! War is about to break out on the border between Latveria and Symkaria -- unless two unique teams of heroes can unravel a dark mystery… that is, if they don’t destroy each other first! Stuart Moore (WOLVERINE, PUNISHER X-MAS SPECIAL) and Tyler Kirkham (X-MEN: PHOENIX WARSONG) bring together fan-faves like Wolverine, Megatron, Spider-Man and Optimus Prime in this all-new, four-issue, widescreen adventure!

Avengers Captain America, Luke Cage, Wolverine and Spider-Man are in Latveria investigating a radiation signature that SHIELD thinks is coming from something Dr. Doom is doing. Clearing a hill the team comes across a strange dome covered in energy and broken Doombots scattered around its base. Maria Hill tells them over a communicator that the dome doesn't match Doom's technology, but that since it's probably connected to the rising hostilities in nearby, they should check it out anyway. Wolverine and Luke get closer and break a hole in the dome and Captain America gets mad at them for not waiting his orders. Everyone gets a little mad, but they proceed into the base. They enter a corridor and are welcomed by strange reflective walls and a barrage of lasers. As a laser hits each hero, a voice somewhere else monitors data collected by the attack. When Spider-Man gets tagged the voice says that he's "perfect" right before Spider-Man gets electrocuted and then taken away by a car. Wolverine gets mad and tries to cut his way out but finds himself facing a force field. Captain America, Wolverine and Luke all start yelling at each other and mysterious machines monitor them from elsewhere.

The machines, called Autobots, realize what is going on. Their enemy Megatron is broadcasting an "aggression wave" that makes causes all nearby humans to act violently. The countries that Maria had mentioned earlier were going to war because of this aggression wave and now the Avengers were going for each other's throats. The purpose of the wave was to make humans kill themselves leaving the planet open to Megatron. With this information, Optimus Prime decides to do something.

In the dome, Megatron has Spider-Man on what looks like an operating table. He says that Spider-Man will help him in his greatest triumph, but he doesn't tell him how.

At the force field, Captain America greets Ms. Marvel and Falcon as they land to provide backup. The team starts to fight once again, but before things go too far, the Autobots arrive. Optimus tells the Avengers to leave, but in response, Captain America leads his team in an attack.

Did that get your attention? Hopefully so. Because this vintage title definitely celebrates both generations of heroes. Never think we'd see the day, both would collide. First on a misunderstanding, than an alliance. Somehow things will work out, but man its just one of those times you feel a comic should keep going, and not stop.

TF & A really gives the guff on where they want to go with project. Its also very promising to see where it will bring in readers of both titles, and have some fun. Kinda wished it was more than just 4 issues. Something big is gonna go down. Man, and we cant see it yet! aww poo.
