The search is on!!
A lot of people may have heard that Bendis is not doing a good job with his Dark Reign books. Well this book takes that statement tares it up feeds it to its dog and burns their shit. Bendis does an awesome job here and this lives up to the glory of the last volume.
The story starts where the last left of off Clint is confronted by Ms Marvel saying what he did was a stupid thing going on T.V and antagonizing Osborn. The story shifts to Wiccan who stops a speeding car only to be meet by Doctor Strange who tells him that he is no longer the Sorcerer Supreme and about all the people who might be. He is however interrupted by a demoniac looking Hood. The scene changes to the New Avengers sitting around the table eating food discussing events like the old Avengers and appoint Clint as their leader with Ms.Marvel as second. Clint's first order of business is to get Spider-man to tell everybody his real name(Nobody remembers because of BND) which he does. Jessica Jones tells Peter that she had a crush on him in high school Peter tells her that her knew her as coma girl this upsets her and she leaves. Doctor Strange shows up and asks them for help. They all go to New Orleans in a stolen Queine jet where Luck Cage figures out that they are going to see Son of Satin the hood gets there first and they are ambushed by Madame Masque and after a short fight the New Avengers take her out . Just then the Eye Of Agamoto shows the avengers all of the possible candidates to replace Doctor Strange and then disappears. The Avengers then help Son of Satin fight a now Demon Hood who demands that they give the Eye to him. It is then reveled that Brother Voodoo is the new Sorcerer Supreme and together with Doctor Strange and Son of Satin exercise Dormammu from the Hoods body. The story ends with Loki visiting the Hood in hospital offering to give him his power back and Clint after seeing Osborn's statement about him on the news states that they have no choice but to kill him to kill him .
This is one of the best New Avengers stories out there and Bendis make an excellent with this book. The art is fantastic in this volume and Tan and Bachalo deserve a lot of the credit. One of the best things I like about this novel and I praise Bendis for doing this is that this is one of the first books outside Amazing Spider-man to deal with the aftermath of One More Day thanks Bendis for having the balls.
I give this 4 out of 5 stars because the story telling is fantastic the art is fantastic and is one of the funniest volumes to date. One of Funniest moments is when Spidy calls Captain America Bucky Cap and Spidy telling Luke that he didn't know his wife had a crush on him Spidy is very well written in this however the way Spidy is written is one of the reasons this book doesn't get a 4.5 because Peter seems against using the stolen jet which doesn't seem like Spidy behavior and Cap who acts too solder like saying that all of them should use a gun. This book is still a must read for all New Avenger and Spidy Fans
