    A Vertigo Must Have

Vertigo's corner stone names are Neil Gaiman and Grant Morrison.  Grant Morrison more later on, while Neil Gaiman set the famous Sandman Universe foundation Vertigo would be associated with.

These are rare Neil Gaiman stories in a wonderful Anthology.  A must have for any Vertigo Fan.

Pros:  Hellblazer #27 "Hold Me", the only Hellblazer Neil Gaiman wrote and it is a fan fave.  From all the Guest writers Vertigo's longest running series has had, only this story is a "MUST READ" Hellblazer.  Dave McKean does haunting art for such a lonly, but still lovely story that only Neil Gaiman can write.

"Brothers", which is a story which features The Brothers Geek.  It is an interesting story one in which people forget Neil Gaiman was suppose to be a Swamp Thing Writer after Rick Veitch.

"Shaggy God Stories", This is the story in which really show what Neil Gaiman could of done with Swamp Thing. The story is told in perspective  of  The Floronic Man (Jason Woodrue).

"Sandman Midnight Theatre", This is a Sandman Mystery Theatre One-Shot that was co-written with Matt Wagner.  This is the story in which both Golden age Sandman Wesley Dodds and Neil Gaiman's "Dream" of the Endless both share the same Universe.  It is a great noir-story and a nice change from the Alan Moore famed Characters in John Constantine and
    The Floronic Man.

Last but not least, there is the never before published story:  "Jack in the Green".  This was the tryout story that proved to Karen Burger that Neil Gaiman can write.  It was a story finished for this book with the Swamp Thing Team Alan Moore made famous,  Stephen R. Bissette  and  John Totleben as the artists,  Tatjana Wood doing the colours and  John Costanza lettering.

Cons: This book does not have the "lost story",  " Green Lantern/Superman: Legend of the Green Flame" .  The  "Green Lantern/Superman: Legend of the Green Flame"  was later released as its own prestige comic.

Verdict:  Its Neil Gaiman and rare vertigo works.  It is a book you will be proud to have in your collection.
