Looks like it's going to be really good. X-Force, New Mutants, & Lagacy all get a part in this.
Necrosha!
I tried to put a pic up but did not work for me.
!
Necrosha
A cross-over event in New Mutants, X-Force & X-Men: Legacy. Eli Bard infected himself with the docile transmode virus to resurrect & control the dead. As Selene's former lover, he sent the resurrected to attack the X-Men and intended to use the dead Genoshans to make her a goddess.
Necrosha
"what's it about
"
Today at its X-Men panel, Marvel made several announcements. With Messiah War concluded, X-Force is headed to a new crossover - Necrosha. The storyline will bring Wolverine's strike team in line with the New Mutants and Rogue's X-Men Legacy series.
IGN will have full details and interviews with all of the creators tomorrow morning. For now we can tell you the basic premise: Selene is back, and is attempting to raise the dead of Genosha, a former mutant sanctuary that was annihilated by a massive Sentinel in Grant Morrison's New X-Men series.
"We have been going for this since our New X-Men run," said Craig Kyle. Kyle said Selene feels cheated by the Hellfire Club. He mentioned he and Chris Yost are huge fans and this is their chance to bring back characters that have been lost to them - including many they had killed. Selene is back and she's bringing lost parts of the X-Universe with her. Yost notes that this is the payoff for stories they've been building since the beginning, and that next month's issue starts to bring everything together. Yost also says it's shockingly violent.
The storyline kicks off this October. Stay tuned for more details tomorrow! For now, take a look at some shiny, shiny art.
I'd say it's Illyana since it looks like a New Mutants uniform......and Wallflower didn't die on Genosha
"ohh, it's only in Genosha...I'd say it's Illyana since it looks like a New Mutants uniform......and Wallflower didn't die on Genosha
"
Thanks for getting those pcs up. For some reason it did not work for me. Wonder what I did wrong.
This is what I have been waiting for. New Mutants, X-Force & throw in some sugah (Rogue) I'm ready. Not to mention 16 million dead muties.
" It looks like she'll be using th Phalanx to do it too "It's the transmode virus which Eli Bard obtained from the Magus sample in X-Force. He used it to resurrect Proudstar's tribe & Caliban... well, mainly for Caliban, so he could hunt down living & dead mutants for Selene to feast off of.
" Hmmm, is cannonball hugging Illyana... or if they bring the dead back... could that be Wallflower? "I don't want to spoil it for you, but there's a certain New Mutant who is coming back. This would be a logical way to bring him back, given the way that the transmode virus has successfully resurrected X-Men villains.
"I read the interview on Newsarama which said that the next story arc after 'Not Forgotten' will have a very spoilery name to it. Here's the article about the revelations at SDCC. This confirmed my suspicions about Selene's plans... I just didn't expect them to dive into this story so soon.Necro = Greek for 'Dead'Genosha = island nation full of dead mutantsNecrosha = funky new cross-over featuring my three favourite titles.@danhimself said:" It looks like she'll be using th Phalanx to do it too "It's the transmode virus which Eli Bard obtained from the Magus sample in X-Force. the only dead New Mutant I can think of is Doug Ramsey
I'm looking forward to development in the Warpath/Eli Bard story. I really thought that they wouldn't conclude that storyline so soon.
Damn Ares105 beat me to it! I was gonna call it, "Black Queen's Night"...
However, it's not like they can be taken to task for "Ripping-off DC"; I really think this is a coincidence, unlike "Identity Disc" a few years back. The sub-plots of this crossover have been in the works for a few years now, and they even brought characters back to life already at the beginning of "X-Force".
But the similarities are pretty funny, anyway...
The whole of Warpath's tribe were resurrected months ago, long before Blackest Night started. For anyone who knows the background to these characters and stories then it's nothing like Blackest Night.

I know Warpath's tribe was resurrected months ago before the Blackest Night event began, but you're aware that Geoff Johns had Blackest Night planned out since Green Lantern: Rebirth at the beginning of 2005, right? I know both Blackest Night and Necrosha were planned out awhile ago, but I just find it funny that both events are, finally, occurring at the same time as one another. I mean you cannot deny the fact that there are similarities between the two arcs...
Green Lantern rebirth ended in 2003, not 2005
I love that Marvel has decided to stop any attempt of getting their own ideas for material
Starts to hyperventilate@xxCellPhoneGirlxx said:" Hmmm, is cannonball hugging Illyana... or if they bring the dead back... could that be Wallflower? NO WAY!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS? IF THEY BRING HIM BACK ILL ILL (finally collapses after hyperventilating)

Are you sure? I was almost positive that it ran from December 2004 to May 2005. I do agree with the Marvel statement though.
Mystique is too busy pretending to be dead, and be prof X at the same time.... Now that's a work out all by itself right there... She would be too busy for that..
" @xxCellPhoneGirlxx said:This is the X-Men, so it could be nearly anyone from their past. How many times has Sunfire either been fighting them or teaming-up with them? Gambit's another one but too obvious, possibly Mimic after "Utopia" is done, but who knows...I'm sure I'm wrong..."Mystique is too busy pretending to be dead, and be prof X at the same time.... Now that's a work out all by itself right there... She would be too busy for that.."Then who else could she Face that has had the role of enemy and friend do you think? "
This kind of looks interesting, and if Hellion's in it I'll be there. (He's in Utopia too, but Fraction is almost completely negating the characther growth he had in New X-Men.) But i gotta agree w/ the others. This is horrible timing for this event. While i won't go so far as to ever say Yost and crew would copy Geoff. The fact is w/ the storyline similiarities, and all the hype surrounding Blackest Night...i hope it doesn't kill this story in comparison. Hopefully critics and fans won't compare the 2 too much.
Whats to compare besides dead people. This is Marvel they can pull it off.with the characters from X-Force, New Mutants & Rougue
As dark as I believe it will be. There is no comparison. I say Marvel makes for the better of the 2 stories if you want to compare them I do not.
Hands down this will be a great story for Marvel readers.
"Hmmm, is cannonball hugging Illyana... or if they bring the dead back... could that be Wallflower?"
That's not sam. That's Douglas Ramsey. Sam's hair isn't that long.

More details about Necrosha have been revealed in this week's X-Position.
It involves all three titles (X-men: Legacy, X-Force & New Mutants), but it isn't a cross-over HAVE to buy each title. You can buy each title & still get all the story you need out of it. So it isn't another Messiah War. There will be a Necrosha one-shot in October featuring 22-pages of X-Force, 11-Pages of New Mutants & 11-Pages of X-men: Legacy. But... these are my three favoutire titles, so I'll be getting them all! :)
POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING - If you don't like spoilers then don't read this!!
Many people asked about various mutants they'd like to see return:
Re: Sway & Petra
YOST: It’s a possibility. I mean, if they’re dead and important to an X-Man, then there’s a chance that Selene will use them against the X-Men.
Re: Tag & Wallflower (the other mutants listed are still alive)
YOST: one of the people listed there is definitely going to be seen. Beyond that, we’re not going to restrict ourselves to characters that we’ve killed…as massive as that number is. There’s over forty years of great X-characters available to us. But, yeah, you may well see some of the kids you knew and loved like Tag and DJ – or maybe not. We’re not going to tell you right now, though.
KYLE: Well, maybe not Tag, because even in death, those powers are still silly.
Re: Maggot
YOST: The bottom line is Selene has a very specific purpose for who she’s resurrecting at the outset. And as “Necrosha” opens, you’re going to see what that reason is. And then beyond that, she even has a much, much larger plan in mind. Basically, she has reasons for who she’s resurrecting, and if a person fits within those reasons – yeah, you’ll see them.
KYLE: And the first of the new resurrections will be seen in “X-Force” #18.
Re: Risque & Thunderbird
YOST: I’d say the chances are about a thousand percent. I mean, there’s a one-in-one chance he’s going to see at least one of those guys, if not two.
KYLE: And one of those will be Thunderbird.
YOST: Right. We don’t want to be too vague here, but he’s going to meet Thunderbird.
Re: Von Roehm:
KYLE: Who?
YOST: He had that weird mustache-beard thing and he turned into that vampire dude.
KYLE: Oh yeah. Well, I think we’ve given her all the lackeys she needs in our current run, right Chris?
YOST: That’s right. Selene has a whole new set of very powerful minions doing her bidding. I don’t think she needs S&M vampire-boy at the moment.
KYLE: You’ll be seeing more characters from Selene’s past in this, but that character is probably one of the few we’re not bringing back in this run.
YOST: Plus, he wasn’t a mutant.
KYLE: True, so who needs him?
When asked if Wither will make an appearance:
YOST: You’re going to see Wither in “X-Force” #18.
And if he'll face-off against Elixir:
ST: It’s so weird – the coincidences that shape this book: Wither is part of it, Elixir is part of it… weird.
KYLE: I wish we could say something, but it’s too soon. But, boy, that’d be great!
@xerox-kitty:
Thank you so much for the low down. I'm glad to have started a thread ...someone hsd to. You just gave it the spark it needed to keep going.
I know you have heard it before but xeerox-kitty your the best. All 3 titles that will be my pull list. I'm only getting into Legacy because of Necrosha & the fact that Rouge is going to be up front & center in it.
I was thinking of preordering all 3 titles what place can you recomend to order from. I will go to my local when I can to pick up variants.
Thanks again.
Personally, I'm excited by this cross-over. It features the three titles I'm getting every month. I wasn't getting Legacy, but now that they've stopped with the flashbacks it has turned into a much better title & I'm looking forward to seeing more Academy X/New X-Men again. Especially in a regular title that they deserve instead of as 'rotating' personality-less porn-stars for Fraction & Land.
I find it amusing when someone was asking about Tag & Wallflower. They mentioned a lot of characters who are still alive. The only dead characters they mentioned were Tag & Wallflower. The answer they got was essentially 'we'll be bringing ONE of those characters back form the dead', 'but not Tag' :D I shouldn't want to see Laurie involved in this, as it means it'll be a terrible ordeal for Elixir, Loa & all her friends... and I don't want to see her body abused like Caliban & the rest of Warpath's people. But I can't help it... I liked her character & I want to see this story unfold!!

i too am excited for miss Collins, sorry about the font.
Impressive... an excited font! :D
K&Y prety much said that they will resurrect any X-characters who will have traumatic consequences for anyone who is connected to the X-Men. That could be anyone from Moira (Wolfsbane), Icarus (Cannonball), Cody (Rogue) and of course Mr Languages himself ;)
LOL! Not from what I read from K&Y's X-Position ;)
Doesn't Neena have a dead husband? He was lame when alive, I don't think being resurrected would make him any better ;p
