The fourth, but it didn't work because his soul was stuck inside the Death God already, which Orochimaru did not know.

As stated in the latest chapter, Orochimaru had the genetic material to revive the fourth, he just needed to release him from the death god and it was quite simple.

@datguyobed: I believe it was the fourth Hokage.. Considering he was lining up Hokages, and people sarutobi knew well, it seems logical. Also, as said, fourth already had his soul Given to the death God, he wasn't able to do it. Which backs the idea..

but the fourth hokage was sealed away when he was fighting the nine tail and so it could not of been the fourth so who was it

You're right, that's why Orochimaru's summoning of him failed. That's also why Kabuto could not bring back any of the Hokages -- because after Orochimaru's fight with the Third, all four Hokages had their spirits sealed in the Death God.

@datguyobed: They're giving you answers you asked for so why are you arguing against it? Oro was attempting to summon Minato but it failed because his soul was taken by the death god and wrong thread.
