    The Tests of the Ninja

I thought this was a great volume. It started the series off in a great way, introduced the characters, got you to know them and taught you a lesson. It was amazing artwork and great entertainment. Iruka showed a lot of compassion, Sasuke is awesome, Sakura will rise up eventually (not in THIS volume), Sasuke is awesome, and Kaskashi is layed back on the outside. Mizuki really made you angry at him. You will probably buy volume two right after you finish reading the last word. The story itself was great, it didn't overwhelm, and didn't make you think it was lacking. Thank you Mr. Kishimoto.

    The Tests of the Ninja

naruto is ready to start of his ninja training, but is found to be very disliked by everyone in the village. The adults don't like him because he has the nine tailed fox sealed in him, but the kids hate him because their parents hate them. But he found one person like him called iruka ominu that felt his pain and was a freind to him. He knew he had the nine-tailed fox but he knew it wasn't his fault. So he has found a dearest freind to count on and look up to as a father figure in his eyes as a ninja.

good start but it gets better

    The Tests of the Ninja

this volume was kinda boring but it tells you everything you need to know about the narutoverse. i think you could probably start on the second volume and not miss much. you only need to know that naruto has a fox demon inside him and that he pretty much sucks at being a ninja. you might need to know a little about sasuke and sakura and their attitude towards their less than perfect teamate. i think the whole bit where naruto saves his teacher and earns his head band is a little over dramatic but if you like ninjas magic and adventures that the hero is the underdog this is the series for you.

    A MEMORABLE MANGA!!!!!!!

    The Tests of the Ninja

This was a great way to start the manga!!! This volume is truly a memorable one; even my brother, who doesn’t like manga, loved the first chapter. Chapters two and three are a bit dull... but the action of the rest of the chapters makes up for it! The characters are not very original but they are nonetheless enjoyable.  Furthermore, it is a story about ninjas; yet, the only thing ninja about it are their weapons (which aren't used nearly as much as the characters' chakra techniques.) Chakra is basically ninja magic and makes the characters more like sorcerers then ninja. However, all that being said: it has well-written humor, awesome fights and touching plot points to make up for it! This is certainly one of the best graphic novels I have ever read! It is HIGHLY recommended!!!
