    Düsseldorf, Germany, 1995. Against the backdrop of a recently unified Germany, middle-aged childless couples are being killed one after another. Dr. Tenma soon discovers that his ethical conduct as a doctor led to a disastrous consequence—Johan, the child whose life he saved less than a decade ago, is the culprit! Thus begins Tenma's desperate pursuit of Johan. His first goal is to find Johan's twin sister, who may hold some clues to the secret of the monster!
