Origin

A Golden Age hero beginning her career in the early 1940's. Aquaria Nautica Neptunia is the daughter of an Atlantean man and and surface dweller woman. Similar to her cousin Namor, she is a hybrid; half human half Atlantean. As a result of it she has a mutate genetic make-up that grants abilities far greater then any one of pure genetic blood lines.

As a child, her father moved near to his brother who also had a child, a boy named Namor. Aquaria and Namor, cousins, became playmates and were nearly inseparable. So close were they that she was given the nickname "Namora." During adolescent years her mutation made itself known when her normally blue Atlantean skin faded to the color of a average Caucasian color. This was the first time it was revealed that she was half human as was her cousin, Namor. A year later an attack on the castle she and her family lived took place. The invaders were there trying to raid their home for treasures. They would leave when they got what they wanted but not before Namora's father was killed by them. Namor and Namora became enraged by the events and would go after them and get revenge. And they would. These events would change Aquaria. She would permanently change her name to "Namora" which means avenging daughter and take on a more aggressive personality.

With nowhere to go, Namora would accompany her cousin Namor in all of his coming adventures. They would tackle countless missions and numerous villains. This would come to a stop in 1955 but not before she meets a man named Jimmy Woo. He was on a mission of his own and ran into Namora. He offered her a spot on his team the "Agents of Atlas." She would decline, but it wouldn't be the last time she would ever see him.

Afterward it was then that Namora would meet, fall in love with and marry an Atlantean man named Talan. They would not have an easy married. It was very strained with many of their issues coming from Namora's hybrid nature. Although her Atlantean nature made her very fertile, her mixed DNA made it impossible to reproduce. Wanting to help their marriage they would make a decision that none could know of. They were going to use a genetic clone of Namora to help them have a baby. This was a very taboo topic to Atlantians and also very illegal. Not too long after, she gave birth to their daughter and named her Namorita.

They would have a brief happiness as Namor would end up missing shortly after and then her husband would be killed in an atomic bomb testing. With nothing left for her, Namora would leave with her daughter back to Lemuria to start over. Several years would pass and Namora had grown to find herself attracted to another man. He was the the crowned prince of Lemuria, Merro. Another Atlantean female named Llyra would find this out and in a jealous rage she attacked Namora. She would capture her and poison her with a poison highly effective against Atlanteans. Namora would die, leaving her, still very young, daughter Namorita alone without either her parents.

The truth behind Namora's death.

Not all would believe the stories behind Namora's death. An aged Jimmy Woo, who had once met Namora many years back, was one of these individuals. If his thoughts were right, then Namora was never dead at all. He gathered the remaining members of his group, Agents of Atlas and went to look for her. They first went and located Namora's coffin. Upon investigation, they found that she wasn't actually inside the coffin, it was only a hologram image of her. Multiple events followed and they were informed that the real Namora was frozen and hidden in an ice cavern under the North Sea. Once found she would be thawed and healthy as could be. Namora had survived the poisoning because of her hybrid lineage. Had she been only Atlantean then she would have died. Either way she was awakened. Grateful for Woo saving her, she gladly accepted Jimmy Woo's offer to join his team. She would then leave with his team and uncover the secrets that he had been looking for. Namora would continue as part of his team for a while after.

Renegades!!

The recent events of the leading to the Civil War would bring Namora to the surface looking for revenge. She found that her daughter Namorita was murdered in battle and this would be just the start. When Hulk began his attacks later known as "World War Hulk," Namora would join with Amadeus Cho and his team including Mastermind Excello, Angel and Hercules to aid Hulk in battle. This ragtag group would be known as the Renegades. During the battling, Namora even shares a passionate kiss with Hercules. The ramifications of this kiss have yet to be explored. Her actions after these events have yet to be seen.

Powers

Namora is biologically half Atlantean and half human. With that, she all the natural abilities of both, though due to her hybrid nature many of her natural abilities are far greater then any average Altantean or human for that matter. As an Atlantean she has numerous super attributes including:

Under optimal levels, Namora is able to lift and move over 10 tons on land or in water.

Limited Invulnerability:

Highly durable-skin extremely tough. Withstands bullets, missiles and deep sea pressures with ease

Sub-mariner:

Namora's Altantean heritage grants her multiple underwater super attributes. She can Swim at incredible speeds, immune to cold and pressures of deep sea, able to see clearly in water whether murky or not & her strengths and health are naturally replenished in water.

Longevity

Namora ages at a far slower rate then most due to her Atlantean nature. Already half a century old, Namora still appears to be in her twenty's.

Enhanced Speed, Reflexes & Endurance

Namora's speed,reflexes and endurance are greatly enhanced especially when underwater.

Flight

Namora is able to fly through use of small wings below her ankles. These are naturally grown and normal to Atlanteans.

Abilities:

Namora is trained in Atlantean combat methods and is a very unarmed combatant. Namora is also also fluent in Atlantean. Lemurian and English languages.

Limitations:

Though she is able to live indefinitely on either land or in water, her Altantean linage still requires water. The longer she is out of water the weaker she becomes. She must submerse herself in water periodically to retain and recharge her powers.

Unusual Traits

Prior to her mutation during adolescence, her skin was blue like all Atlanteans. Her skin then changed to that of an average Caucasian, no longer blue. She also has small wings on her ankles which enabled her the ability of flight.

Alternate Realities

Namora of Earth #2189

Exiles Member

The Exiles version of Namora from Earth-2189 is actually that worlds counterpart of Namor, and has the same abilities as him. Differing from both Namora and Namor, this version maintained her blue skin. She first appeared in Exiles 46. She was ported in with the rest of the Exiles. Blink introduces everyone to her and tell her what they must do. Namora slaps her hand away asking her is it alright that they were taken from their homes and enslaved. When the Exiles try to fingure out what the Tallus wants them to do, Namora starts to walk off.  Heather grabs her and tells her she cannot go. She then punches Heather (in her sasquatch from) and throws her hundreds of yards into the water. She then fights the Exiles and dives in the water saying they will thank her later. She goes to Atlantis and sits on the throne for Namor to see. They have a quick tussel and she tells him she is him from another reality and that his realm is in danger. They go to the Baxter building  Namor hits her and they dump her in a water tank that can hold her.
  Namora starts to tell the Fantastic Four and Namor about her reality. She said when she was little she would swim away from atlantis. When a shark tried to eat her she ripped it in half. This is when she found out she was invulnerable. And that she was Atlantis first and only mutant. Until years later when Attuma was born. He thought his powers were given to him by the gods and that they wanted him to become king. He killed the Queen and any others that might replace her, he was then defeated by Namora coming to late to save the Queen she was made Queen. She was going to start a war on Earth when she saw that the humans were a danger to all life. She was then contacted by Charles Xavier asking her to hold off the war. So she did. She made friends with Xavier and the X-Men. Until Magneto attacked a Air Force carrier, Namora and the X-Men stopped him but the pictures got out. Humans then started enfocing mutant laws where they would have to go to jail. Xavier gave up but Namor didnt. She then started a war on Earth and killed all the super heroes that opposed her. Namora stated the Fantstic Four was the hardest she had to fight. 

  Namora tells the Exiles that the timebroker is telling them he is a figment of their imagination so they wont turn on him. Namora is with the Exiles when they are consumed by a spell on a planet where everyone is in medivel ways. Until they were cut by Magick's soulsword, which cancels magick.

Earth-2301

Marvel Mangaverse

Namora appeared in the Marvel Mangaverse. She rescued an amnesia tic Bruce Banner and then fell in love with him. He eventually regained his memories and with Namora return to the surface. They aided Earth's heroes in battle against the giant sized Godzilla-like Hulk and the demon-god, Dormammu.
