Namor Teaming With Real X-Men In Dark Reign?

Here's a funny thing. During some office shenanigans at Marvel, Editor Nick Lowe had his desk covered with Post It notes because he seems to leave them everywhere. He Twittered the following image to share with all of us:

I saw the image and was reminded of my early days of student teaching when another teacher and myself tortured my mentor teacher (I supplied the ideas and let him take the heat).

What makes this all newsworthy is if you look at the picture on the clipboard with Namor. It's an awesome piece of art by the awesome Alan Davis. Rich Johnston pointed out that the image has only been seen with just Namor and a blacked out background. But looking closely you see that he seems to be fighting along side (the real) Wolverine and Colossus. It's mentioned that possibly Cyclops and maybe Havok are also there but I don't quite see that.

What do you think this means for Dark Reign and the Dark X-Men? Why is Namor seemingly fighting with the X-Men rather than with Emma and the Dark X-Men? Maybe he had a little lovers' tiff with Emma.

Thanks to FoxxFireArt for pointing this out to me. I saw the post yesterday but didn't really look at it as I just assumed it was dealing with Nick's desk and all the Post It notes.

Ha if you look at it from another perspective it kinda looks like wolverine and colossus are chasing Namor in a very hilarious looking way

You can see Cyclops in the background as well. He's firing his eye beams past Namor (which leads me to believe they are not chasing him). On one hand I would love to see Namor end up in the X-Men. He's one of the most regal mutants of all time and should have a place on the premier mutant team. On the other hand, I still want to see him answer to T'Challa for setting him up.

@Gambler: lol what if cyclops missed?? ha I just really want them to be chasing him, I think Namor is cool and all, well with the exception of the mini wings on his feet, it would be cool to see him as a regular on the X-men, look forward to Cyclops and him butting heads.

I see Cyclops now. I would be surprised if Namor was every running away from anyone.

Could be like Dark Avengers 6, where the cover with Venom and Noh-Varr had nothing to do with the story.

Wow, thanks for the credit. I wasn't expecting that. Just passing along something one of the members on the Marvel Boards posted.
That really doesn't look like the posture of someone running away from something, but toward something. Not to mention that Wolverine and Colossus don't seem to be looking at him, but past him.

About the image. I believe that after Utopia there will be some kind of split. The Dark X-Men may remain, but no where near the full roster they used to have. Some will side with Osborn and the others will join the X-Men.
I also believe that Emma is playing Namor. Though some day soon he's going to find out about Shaw being alive. Fraction has said as much in interviews.

He's on the cover for the November issue of Uncanny. So, strangely, it seems that Namor will be a part of the Nation X storyline.

They do split just read the preview its been confirmed that the roster will be Weapon Omega, Mystique, Dark Beast & Mimic after Utopia.

I'm not sure what I find less appealing.
Namor's extended involvement with the X-Men story, or Land's return. Emma 'literally' looks like a model in that picture. She looks like one of those figures you put on a desk or something along those lines. She even has the little standing platform.
Though to Land's credit. Psylocke almost looks Asian in that picture.

@G-Man: Cyclops in the photo is just below Namor's armpit on our right as looking at the image. You can clearly see his optic blast. There is someone standing next to him, but I don't think it's Havok unless he dons his old outfit.

I wanna see Tom Grummett draw the recent Uncanny crew, or bring back Alan Davis. An Arthur Adams run wouldn't be too bad either. Lemme wake up from dreaming now.

Honestly, I friggin' LOVE Namor, he is one of the few truly douchy characters in comics. If they could figure out a way to slap Quicksilver, Namor, The New Ant Man, Task Master, and maybe Elektra (gotta have a hottie); and stick them on a team together; it would be comedy gold. I almost wanted to say Deadpool as well; but he's been a little over exposed lately.

Namor

Namor the Sub-Mariner is the ruler of undersea Atlantis. The offspring of a sea captain and an Atlantean princess, he has been both a hero and a villain to the surface world. Namor is one of Marvel's oldest published characters with his origins in The Golden Age of Comics.
