Korg said: "Spider-Man would make a mediocre GL. Not great, not terrible. I wouldn't put him on par with Earth's other GLs." I agree. I mean, he's already got so much going on, making him GL might cause him to web-himself.

Virago replied to the topic Who lusts after her? in the X-23 board. 10:23AM
Yeah, they would have to have the exact same DNA to be a clone, but seeing as she's a girl... i dunno, "genetic duplicate" does make more sense.

Basically, Virago is a really pissed off haridan, killed by a "jack the ripper" kind of guy. This guy who can only be related to St. Peters gives her the choice of either chilling in limbo, or going back to earth and existing there. The catch is that limbo would be approximately three hundred years, while earth is indefinite; could be a few months, could be a millenium. So she's immortal, but only virtually (so if we were in a viedo game, we couldn't kill her). The thing is, when she figures out the answer, she'll become mortal, and die all over again, and go to heaven. Or hell, if she wanted to, but Satan smells like hangovers.

Yeah, she lives on earth, but in a different reality that we live. For instance, she can see the living as well as the dead. But they're not dead, they're just in a different space-time continuum than we live. It's not ridiculously uncommon, there's about ten or twelve people like Virago (called "The Others") who live in this Abeyance. They've all chosen to live back on earth instead of Limbo.

Thus begins the journey of Virago. She doesn't know what she's looking for, just that it's "The Answer", but she doesn't even know the question in the first place. It's mostly a lose-lose situation, but at least she's not floating around with a bunch of dead babies. She develops a new life, moves to a new city, has new friends, but she's looking for the guy who killed her. His name is Max. He's fat, he's ugly, he's mean, he has a wife and a kid. No one knows that he's a serial killer. In fact, Virago was good friends with the family before her death. Now she's out in the Abeyance, looking for an answer, looking for the question, and maybe gets a shorter life sentence out of it.

A question I have an opinion on! ha. But seriously. I think Hush is one of the most twisted villains. He's also super under appreciated. But the fact that he tried to off his parents so he could be wealthy, and then the whole master mind thing in Hush vol. 1 and 2 just really swept me away.

Sleep? Nah.
1. Twinkle lights. The little ones that look like Ice-cicles.
2. Zucchini bread (homemade).
3. Ponds.
4. Those metal head scratchers that look like giant spiders.
5. Shiny orange objects.
6. Peaches.
7. The nickname "doll".
8. The sound of a bouncing basketball in an empty court.
9. Sun-dresses.
10. Sun in general.
11. Bad action flicks.
12. Drum circles (but not hippy drum circles on the quad... like, hard core african drum circles)
13. Baseball (live. not on tv.)
14. Large beds
15. Vodka.

lol, it kind of blew my socks off. I knew it would be fantastic, but.... man. I loved joker and hated him so much. Two face was good, definitely shadowed by Ledger, though. They better give him an oscar on a silver platter, that's all I'm saying.

I've never been a huge Gunslinger fan, but something about the illustrations just made me cringe. It starts off with vultures picking apart a body. Then flashes to Gilead, which if memory serves correct, is a hill outside of Jerusalem, where we see vaguely Gothic-era architecture and a half-naked woman reminiscent of King Arthur's Guinevere. We again return to the western as Cort and Roland have their show-down, "this town ain't big enough for the two of us" style, where my favorite character, David, is ripped apart. Literally.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the plot, I liked that the mom was a skank, and the dad... well, Issue One doesn't share too much about the father except that he's a cuckhold and his face must be remembered. I'd recommend reading it if you don't know about Gunslinger, but otherwise... "eh".

In true 1980's style, Hulk and Daredevil battle in the streets of Manhattan. Hulk has not yet realized that he is the very Banner he seeks, but rampages the city while Matt Murdoch does his best to stop him. The dialogue is rather wordy for today's short spans of attention, but McKenzie does a good job of keeping the reader informed of past events while maintaining current happenings as well. As a Daredevil volume, this is not the best comic book to understand Hulk's backstory, but it does well in showing the relationship between Murdoch and Banner.

If you're a new comer to the invasion, this is a perfect catch-up issue. Be warned, however, that Tony Stark steals the show; more ink was used on words than on the pictures. Personally, I thought the issue was useful in becoming familiarized with the in's and out's of Skrull life (origins, who's been revealed as skrulls et al), explaining the origins of the illuminati. However, this can be quite the headache to read. It's not something to flip through for the art, either; it starts strong, but when their explaining the Skull empire, it's very cartoony and elementary. Overall, this is very helpful catch-up read, but if you're well-versed in current Marvel happenings, just skip it.
