  • Showcase #4: Himself

  • of course they didn't meet until later, but as a comic book character in Barry's world, Jay inspired Barry to become the Flash

  • Showcase #4: Girlfriend. Their relationship is very interesting and is a nice plot device in these early issues. In The Flash #117: Wonders if there is a connection between Barry disapearing and Flash sudenly appearing (thinks it is absurd at the time. nothing comes of this observation in that issue).

  • Showcase #13: Random lady he saved once...Iris should be jealous!

  • The Flash #106: A talking gorilla is always a nice friend to have!

  • The Flash #107: An Alien speedster. Intersting story...

  • The Flash #108: not too much on him. Pretty much a plot tool to explain somethings so as to tie up some loose ends...

  • The Flash #109: seemed like a nice friend. He was an astronaut who met some undersea beings (see Sarmites for details)

  • The Flash #109: Barry met and saved these beings. Not much data...

  • The Flash #110: In these early issue, Wally is really a clone of Barry. They have the same costume and everything. However, he did start to evolve and have his own set of friends for his stories (see my List "Wally West's Friends" for details)

  • The Flash #111: Don't know what to think about Wiley based on his first appearance. He is supposed to be a scientist, but he didn't stay to investigate the clouds. Instead he went on tour telling people about them without finding out if they were dangerous or not...reappears The Flash #113 as Barry Allen's first "perceived" rival for the love of Iris West

  • The Flash #112: Ralph is perhaps the first real competitor to Flash. We have seen threats to flash's speed from people like Kyri (see above for info), but Elongated man actually challenges Barry and makes him work even harder.

  • The Flash #116: He helps him against a student from his same dimension.

  • The Flash #117: Although they actually cause the problem in the issue, they do help a little bit to fix it.
