In the beginning, a man by th name of Banner lived an average life as a college student in the planet of Earth. However, during his time, something devastating had happened to the planet... there was collision of an asteroid called RM-28983 and the impact had destroyed all life in the world and soon nothing existed.... However, this incident would change Banner's life. In the ashes, he laid there almost lifeless and half of his body was disintegrated. As he was taking his last breaths, a cosmic being by the name of Reality came before him. Reality had told him that he was bewildered by the survival of Banner. He told Banner that because of his survival in the blast, Banner would be given a second chance to live, but must undergo change. Banner had accepted this offer, but asked Reality what he would do after he was transformed since the world was destroyed. Reality told him that he would send him to an alternate universe to live throughout his days, but he would have unique abilities like no one else. Banner hears this and tells Reality that he would accept the terms to live again and not stay in the ruins and rubble of the lifeless Earth. Reality then uses his cosmic powers to start the transformation and teleports Banner to the alternate universe. Banner feels the changes and soon falls into a deep sleep.... Many years pass and Banner appears in the alternate universe of Earth-43563. Banner emerges from a cosmic shell of the universe and questions about the shell. Reality appears before him and tells Banner that he had emerged as a new being, as a super human. He tells Banner that he was in slumber for billions of years and has emerged in the same process as the feared entity of the universe: Galactus. Banner asks who this "Galactus" is, but Reality tells Banner that in time he will find out. Reality tells Banner that he possesses great power, but must learn to use them on his own and train with his abilities. Banner asks Reality more questions but Realtiy tells Banner that he has no time for now and Banner must go and fulfill his destiny. "Destiny? What destiny?" asks Banner, but Reality tells Banner that that was something he didn't know and only Banner can find out. Reality then teleports Banner to an unknown world and tells Banner that he must train himself to master his abilities, but Banner asks him if he can go to a familiar planet: Earth. Reality thinks about it and tells Banner that he would have to endure for a while, but Banner accepts this and says to him that as long as he is in familiar territory he is fine with it. Reality tells Banner that he cannot go to Earth as Banner because he doesn't exist in this universe. Reality tells Banner that his name would be changed from Banner Braxius to Richard Romulus. Reality teleports 'Richard' to Earth and tells that his life would know start anew, but he would soon face new challenges and difficulties and soon will meet a powerful warrior. Richard would make new allies, but also new enemies. Richard asks Reality if he was really powerful, but Reality tells Richard that he would soon find out and suddenly vanishes before Richard, but the voice of Reality tells Richard that he will great things, it just depends on the path he chooses. Richard walks towards New York after realizing that he was next to it. He then hear people calling for him and sees a couple a little over forty running to him. "Where have you been son? We were lookin' all over for you." At first, Richard gets confused by this, but the couple tell him that they had to go home now and it was time to eat dinner. Richard goes along with them and realizes that they have the image of his original parents and asks how they got out of the impact of the asteroid. His 'parents' look confused and asks him what he meant. Richard then realizes that they were only there because Reality had pulled some strings to make him feel comfortable in the new universe he was living in. "He is powerful and strong, but is he ready to face the challenges ahead of him ,much more our tests?" asks Eternity. "Well, I believe so Eternity. He will do many great things and he will succeed in reaching his destiny," says Reality. "Then let us be going. He will soon meet one of his first tests," says Eternity, and they disappear from sight....

The next day, Richard wakes up and thinks it was a terrible dream. Then he looks out and realizes it wasn't a dream at all. He gets out of bed and realizes something was different. He feels stronger, more flexible and faster. He grabs the door and opens it, but then he gets caught and looks at his hand and notices that it wasn't letting go. He pulls with some strength and pulls it off. He looks at his hand and realizes that it had a different appearance. It looked sticky and had the feel of a spider. He grabs onto the wall and starts to climb it. He discovers that he has the powers of a spider and tries shooting a web at the wall. A web comes out and he then screams and says that its all a dream. He then remembers what Reality said and accepts this new power. He goes downstairs and goes to his high school (a new high school he doesn't know about before, but supposedly went there since his freshman year) and goes to his assigned classes. After his class, a guy goes up to him and shoves Richard. "Where do you think you're going? Let's settle this once and for all," says the guy. "I don't know what you're talking about," says Richard. "Don't play dumb with me! You have to pay up for messing with the senior lockers, punk!" says the senior. The senior then tries to punch Richard, but Richard simply moves aside and realizes that he has spider reflexes too. He dodges all the punches and he pushes the senior, who flies into a locker. The senior gets up, charges at Richard and punches Richard in the stomach. The senior looks satisfied, but then Richard looks at the senior like nothing happened and then Richard shoves the senior and the senior slams into a wall and falls down unconscious, leaving cracks on the wall. The principal soon comes and takes Richard to the office while a teacher calls for an ambulance.
