Strobe

Strobe is the brother of one time X-Force/X-Men villainess, who also used the same codename, Strobe. She was incarcerated and depowered after the effects of M-Day. Her brother, ME, took up the name after she no longer could. He feels guilt for the misdeeds that his sister took part in, and wants to make up for her past evil ways. This is why he took up the mantle she left as Strobe. He wants to right the wrongs she did and prevent other evil that may arise. Guilt is his major driving force, as such he can be guilted into doing anything.

Similar to his sister, he is a mutant, though his powers are at level far beyond those of his sisters. Whereas his sister could use light in such a way it mimic'd the effects of fire and heat. The new Strobe was in short an entity of pure light. Able to convert his entire body into any form of ambient light and using the light that he wielded in a number of ways. Imagine Dazzler, 10-fold. He had all the same abilities as she but could also fly, think, react; basically live at the speed of light. Even have the ability to convert his entire body in a multitude of varying lights. Though, because of the wide array of powers that was available to him so early on in his mutant life, he feared them. He also did not want to turn to evil as his sister did. Knowing that "Power, corrupts & Absolute power, corrupts Absolutely." He created barriers within his self limiting his own access to his powers. Through time, of course, the will have access to them.

In appearance and power it would seem that Strobe is an Omega-level mutant, but his true limits have never been measured as he constantly restrains himself on a regular basis. Due to his relative newness to his power's, he is burned out far too easily. This only forces himself to limit his power even more.
