Jeremy: God Of Heroism Vol. One

Issue One: Origin

Jeremy was born a demi-god in Chicago,Illinois of the year 1995. His mother was mortal, but his father was none other the than "Hercules, Prince Of Power". He was raised in the mortal realms for most of his life with his mother. His father that he never knew left when he was small. Jeremy's powers did not reveal themselves until he was 14 years old. He was able to run like "Hermes", fly like "Pegasus", and lift huge objects like he had the strength of Hercules himself. When His mother saw what Jeremy could do, she explained who and what his father was and how he could do all these amazing things. Since that day, Jeremy has been using his powers for good by fighting bank robbers and thieves. Eventually, his father had returned to the mortal realm to tell him how his place belonged with him on Mount Olympus. He then took Jeremy  to Mt.Olympus and there, he meet his legendary aunts and uncles. Afterwords, his grandfather Zeus insisted that he remain among Gods instead of staying on Earth with his mother. Jeremy's answer was obviously no, but Zeus did not know the meaning of the word. He commanded that all the guards of Olympus attack him, Jeremy fought as hard as he could, but he was a mere child compared to Gods. Jeremy fell quickly to their power and for resisting to stay, his punishment was to be imprisoned in the underworld controlled by his uncle "Hades". There he saw many souls being tormented for their sins, Jeremy could not just have left the souls suffer that way. He then broke the chains that binded his powers and took  the nearest sword that he could grasp. The Guards quickly reacted and it seemed  Jeremy was quickly surrounded by an army of the undead. Blessed by the goddess Athena, Jeremy was not the only one who disagreed with Zeus' laws. Jeremy's father, Hercules came to his aid and together, they laid waste to Hades' army of the dead. Hades was outraged by his brother and nephew and took matters into his own hands. He then summoned an array of fallen heroes to take down the enemies that stood before him. Unfortunetly, the will of the fallen heroes proved too much for even the lord of the dead to control and once the heroes gained their freedom, they charged towards Hades in anger. The fallen champions fought as hard as their bodies could last, but it was suicide to challenge the strength of a God. As the heroes fell, lord Hades knew that it was all a distraction for Hercules and his son to escape. In anger, Hades shook all of the underworld with his demon voice that could be heard from Olympus itself. After returning to the mortal world, Jeremy's father explained that the gods only saw mortals as insects that must be squashed and that is why he stayed away from Jeremy his entire childhood. He knew that his father, Zeus, would have used Jeremy as a weapon against humanity and other enemies of Olympus if he knew that he existed.  From that day on, Jeremy knew that there was a war going on, not between mankind, but of one between men and gods. Jeremy became a warrior and a hero of mankind that day and he swore that he would protect planet his home from any threat, God or otherwise. 

Issue Two: Gods and Women

Nearly 3 months have pasted since Jeremy chose to become a defender of the mortal realm and since then, the gangs influenced by Ares and his son Phobos have risen and drove their rage upon the city of Chicago. Their numbers were few, but they were spreading terror and death onto others like they were demons straight out of the udnerworld. Still, no mortal  could ever hope to break the spirit of Jeremy(God of Heroism). With a clap of his hands, Jeremy created a sonic boom that completely destroyed the ear drums of the gang bangers, forcing them to retreat to the alleys and darkened corners of the city once again. Ares and Phobos were punished for their failure by Zeus and were forced into blackest areas of Mt. Olympus for an entire month. Angered by his sons' failure, Zeus called upon Hera(Queen of Olympus) to handle her grandchild. Unfortunately, Hera had changed her ways and decided not to interfere with Zeus' war with the mortals, but Zeus insisted that she at least send one of her amazon warriors. In pity, Hera transported downward into her temple on Themyscira and chose her greatest warrior to enter the world of man to assassinate Jeremy. That warriors name was "Artemis", she then set forth on her journey and took only her sharpest blade and her most trustworthiest of steeds "Pegasus".
They then flew into the unknown world that they have lost translation with for many years and never looked back. Having vanquished the armies of Ares and Phobos, Jeremy rushed to back to his room in search of rest and relaxation. Unfortunately for him, Jeremy was suddenly awakened to sounds of violence coming from the inner streets of Chicago. He then rushed into his costume and then vanished out of the window to face the unknown threat that layed before him. Later in the city streets, the citizens cry out for help while the police are being held up by a venomous creature, their bullets do nothing to the terrifying beast except making him more angrier. Many police men are devoured on sight by the creature and many more have been greatly injured in ways that man-kind has never seen before. It has been 5 min since the hell spawn has terrorized he city and it was now up to Jeremy(God of Heroism) to take justice into his own hands, rushing from an old abandoned building Jeremy flings into battle with his bare fists. He smacks demon in the chest and then again in the jaw, but monster never fell, in fact he was somehow getting stronger. It wasn't a matter of time until Jeremy was trapped and nearly devoured by the venomous creature only to be rescued by a mysterious figure riding on a black Pegasus. The mystery woman plunges her sword into the creature without a moments notice, leaving the creature fatally wounded. The Hellspawn would slowly disappear into the shadows of the city streets, never forgetting the face of the woman who had disgraced him. After, regaining his strength, Jeremy had come to welcome the new fellow warrior, but was quickly attacked by the maddened woman. The boy tried to explain that he meant no harm, but the amazon was trained to not listen to the words of men, fore they were mostly known for telling lies. Eventually, the battle came to an end when Jeremy was wounded in the gut by Artemis' heavenly sword. Unable to move or defend himself, Jeremy asked why she would  attack the very son of Hercules, the mystery women then responded,"IT IS THE WILL OF THE GODS", and then Artemis knocked Jeremy to the ground, leaving him unconscious. When Jeremy awoke, he found himself tied up in the middle of a local abandoned movie theartre. He was puzzled as to why he had not been killed by the strange woman that had taken him down in the city streets. Moments later, Artemis enters the room to find the prize trying to unravel the bonds that kept him from escaping. "You cannot break those bonds demi-god", answered Artemis,"They were made by the god Hephaestus himself". "DO YOU KNOW WHO MY FATHER IS, HE WILL COME DOWN HERE AND KICK YOUR SKINNY &@$" was Jeremy's reply. Artemis:Yes, you are the son of the great Hercules, son of Zeus and step mother to the all mighty Hera of course.Jeremy: So why do you have me chained down like some kind of pet, "because you are my pet", Artemis replied. Artemis: From now on, I own you, you belong to me now boy, and you will do what I say when I say it, do we understand each other child. Jeremy: Like HELL!!, where you're from they might keep men and guys like me as your little slaves, but this is America. Artemis: You dare speak to me in such a manner, I should slice off your head and send you straight to the underworld like I did with all of my other pets that disobeyed my commands. Jeremy: Listen, I'm trying to be the good guy here and show you that not all guys are total pigs or whatever they call us where you're from. Artemis: I could care less of what mortal men are like, all men are meant to serve and obey the few choosen women that have been blessed by the great goddess Hera and if they refuse to serve, then they will be exterminated if they are either good or evil. Jeremy: You totally got  to die now. Just then Jeremy unlocked the bonds that held him and launched himself at Artemis.

Issue Three: Prophecy

After leaping forward onto Artemis, Jeremy managed to puncture her in the chest. Jeremy: You should have killed me when you had the chance because now I wont be as generous as you were a few minutes ago. Artemis: Don't make me laugh boy, have you ever even killed a woman in your entire life. I've killed men and children alike not because the gods commanded me to, rather because I simply enjoyed it. Jeremy: You people must be sick in the head to just take innocent likes without any remorse or feelings. Artemis: I would not be so quick to place judgment my dear boy because the same blood lust that gives me strength also runs through your veins.Your family members have committed unforgivable and unimaginable things that no mere mortal child such as yourself could possibly understand. Jeremy: I do not wish to destroy mankind, I mad it my job to protect these mortals from people like you. Artemis: For now, but that's how they all start.Jeremy: That's how who all start? Artemis: Did you honestly think that you were the first demi-god to say that he was going to be the savior of man-kind. There have been others before you who wished to protect these mortals, but they all fell to the higher power. Jeremy: I could care less how powerful the gods are, I won't give into them. Artemis: I'm afraid you don't have a choice my dear boy, there are certain stages that demi-gods go through as they advance in life. At first they gain supernatural abilities as you have now, but that's just the start. Eventually, then begin to crave what all gods crave. Power, Blood, Lust, and Greed. That's when they loose their humanity and begin to destroy everything that they sought to protect.Jeremy: You're lying, if everything that you say is true, then why do the gods want my head. Artemis: They want more than you're life
boy, they want your soul. It was foretold many centuries ago by the fates, that a demi-god born in the hour of the Twilight would bring an end to either the age of men or the reign of the gods and because you rejected Zeus' offer of god hood, you are now the enemy of all pantheons. Jeremy: So I'm supposed to believe that I'm going to bring the end of the gods? Artemis: It does not matter what you believe, they will come for you with all of their might and they will end the lives of anything that gets in their way. Jeremy: If what you say is true, then I will let you live only to tell my family to bring everything they because I'm going to be ready for them.Artemis: You truly are a fool. As Artemis seemingly flies away on her Pegasus, Jeremy trembles at the thought of having an all-out war on Earth between the fate of man and the gods. Meanwhile, In the darkest reaches of Olympus, the fallen god Ares has been cast away from his fellow brothers and sisters. In anger, Ares plots  his wrathful vengeance against his nephew for defeating his gang army. Instead of lurking in the shadows like his father Zeus, Ares has decided to take a more direct way of war.

Issue Four: Olympus Lurks

After healing from his confrontation with Artemis, Jeremy decides that he must take some sort of action against the gods. If he was to bring about the end of the gods, he must be well trained for anything that Olympus planned to throw his way. From then on, he studied almost anything that had related itself to Greek mythology which included playing God Of War for the Playstation 2 and watching television. Location: Themyscira, Artemis is looked down upon for her failure to slay the the son of Hercules. She was later found guilty of defying the will of the goddess Hera and was sentenced to live out the rest of her days in the world of men. Furious, but honored by the generosity of the amazon counsel, Artemis excepted her punishment and was banished for all time. Location: Olympus, "YOUR AMAZON HAS FAILED US HERA!", yelled Zeus in anger. Hera: My darling husband, don't blame me for the faults of the one amazon. Zeus: But this IS your fault, I came to you for guidance not more failure. Do you not know what rests on this confrontation? If the boy lives it means the end of us woman! Hera: The end of the gods does'nt frighten me anymore husband, we have been living on this world since the begging of time itself. Zeus: And I won't let anything change that no matter who has to be sacrificed in the process. The Olympians will win the upcoming war between men and gods and when we do, there will be noone to challenge my authority ever again. Hera: So my dear husband, what did you intend on doing to our grandson. Zeus: The fates will reveal all in good time my wife. Location: Underworld, Hades:  My brother Zeus dares to deny me my vengeance against my enemies?! Hercules and his offspring will pay for their sins against me, I will drag their souls from the mortal world and make them burn in eternal hellfire. Persephone: Not to worry my king, you will crush your enemies in due time, but for now it is best that we lurk in the shadows until the time is right to strike. Hades: I am lord of the DEAD and you wish for me to hide like a COWARD! Persephone: Not hide my king, but to simply play the game from a different point of view. When Zues and Ares fail in their attempts to kill the son of Hercules, that is when we will make our move. You will slaughter the demi-god and all of Olympus will see that it is you that should rightfully be the ruler of the gods. Hades: Yes, and once I gain control of the Olympian gods, we will lay waste to the mortal realms. They will all run and hide from my wrath, but I will find them and consume their souls. The time of the mortals will not be the only thing that comes to and end, but the rule of Zeus as well.

Issue Five: Armies of Men

While studying the ancient tales of Greek mythology, Jeremy learned many long lost secrets about the Olympians. One was about the great war they had with the Titans. The titans and the gods fought for control of planet and nearly destroyed all of creation, if another great war were to break out again the very universe could crack in time. Nick Fury: Well, don't you have a large imagination. Just then, a man wearing a black eye patch somehow appears in the room without making so much as a noise. Jeremy: Who are you and how did you get in here? Nick Fury: The name is Nick Fury kid, and I'm the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., a global organization designed to protect the planet from things one government cannot do. Jeremy: So you know about the war that's coming between mankind and the Olympian gods. Nick Fury: More or less, listen, the reason I'm here is because there have been sudden outbreaks of large weather storms all over the country. Jeremy: I still don't see why that involves me Nicky. Nick Fury: Number one, never call me that and number two, these storms are taking the lives of hundreds of people. Jeremy: Jesus Christ! Nick Fury: And of that wasn't bad enough, there is a gang war breaking out all over Europe, my psychic division says that they have been possessed by some kinda war demon. Jeremy: Ares has the power to influence others into doing his bidding and as you might have guessed the thunder storms are caused by Zeus. Nick Fury: So, we're facing two powerful gods with the power to end the world with a snap of they're fingers, bring it. Jeremy: You're taking this well, the whole world could come to an end and you're not even sweating a little. Nick Fury: Listen kid, in this job I've seen some real Shit over the past few years. Mutant terrorists, alien invasions, and now a full on attack of the $#@!ing gods. There are things out there that we can't possibly understand, but we have to face them before all hell breaks loose. Jeremy: I know what you're saying, but I have to fight a war. I've never been in a war, you might have , but not me. I'm going to have to take lives, I wasn't prepared for this stuff. Nick Fury: Well, you're going to have to get ready because the war has begun and our side is going to need a knight if we're going to win this.

Issue Six: The War Begins

Nick Fury: Listen kid, I know another boy about your age. He had to rise to the next level when his family and everything he knew was at stake. Now is your time to rise and become the hero you were meant to be and if you don't like it, I can shot you where you stand. Jeremy: I though you were supposed to be encouraging me. Nick Fury: I am, I'm encouraging you to go out there and kick some godly ass. While you're handling the lightning guy, the Ultimates and I will handle the destruction and the gang wars understood. Jeremy: Yes sir. With that said, Jeremy launches out from the room and straight into the sky to confront the king of the gods. Location:Olympus, Athena: This is madness my father, while you wipe out America with your plague, your son Ares has started senseless wars in the European district. Zeus: Madness? I think not my dear child, I said that I would win the war between men and gods and if that means eradicating every last mortal then so be it. Athena: Look at the destruction you have caused father, not even the crazed Loki had the sense to destroy all of mankind. Zeus: Do Not compare me to that Asgardian fool daughter. I am Zeus, king of all Olympian gods and my word is law now leave me be woman. Athena then leaves her father alone to once again cause destruction on the mortals that she of all gods cares the most for. Location:Underworld, Hades: Look at this, it's so beautiful. I would never have thought my foolish brother would have brought me soo many new souls to play with. Persephone: Play with your new toys as quickly as you can my dear husband, fore out time to strike is almost upon us and when it does, we will rule all of olympus and what's left of Earth. Location: Europe, Hawkeye: Shoot these muther@*&%ers, don't let them get to the S.H.I.E.L.D. base or they'll take over this part of the battle ground. Where is our back up, where the hell is Quicksilver and the that &#%!ing hippie with the stupid hammer. S.H.I.E.L.D. Soilder: They are beign held up at the other end of the street geneal Hawkeye and as for our back up, all I'm getting is static from the weather sir. Hawkeye: Well, that's just &#%!ing great, at least when we die out here, we won't have blood on our uniforms because the rain washed it all away. Location: America, Nick Fury: How is the weather control comign along soldier? S.H.I.E.L.D. Soldier: The mutant you sent us is keeping the weather from causing anymore serious damage, but I don't think she can keep it up for much longer sir. Nick Fury: Where the hell are you kid, we need a miracle.
