Editing & Tools » Name Changing Thread

I noticed the other members of the now-disbanded New Warriors got name changes (Wondra/Jubilee, Tempest/Angel Salvadore, Blackwing/Barnell Bohusk) and was wondering if the same could be done for its other members:

Renascence -> Sofia Mantega
Decibel -> Jonothan Starsmore

Also, Dr. James Bradley goes by the codename Doctor Nemesis.

Finally, while it is commonly misspelled, I believe the consenus to Seamus Melloncamp's name is "Mellencamp" (and is spelled as such on Marvel.com's profile page for the character).

The original roster was Night Thrasher (formerly Bandit) Wondra (formerly Jubilee) Decibel (formerly Chamber) Blackwing (formerly Beak) Tempest (formerly Angel Salvadore) Phaser (formerly Radian) Skybolt (formerly Redneck) Ripcord (formerly Stacy X) Renascence (formerly Wind Dancer)     at the time the team disbanded, who were still alive?? "
This is who is left....

"

thanks.  i now have made a list from the roster you showed so that anyone else reading the thread will know the answer even if they can't recognize the heroes.
Jubilee/Wondra
Wind Dancer/Renascence
Radian/Phaser
Beak/Blackwing
Angel Salvadore/Tempest
And I think the last one is Ripcord (formerly Stacy X)

"not to be uncool, but the pages you just linked tell you the answer  all of them survived. Donyell is currently in the book Avengers The Initiative and Jubilee is showing up back in X-Men. "
actually, no, they didn't all survive i know that for a fact.  also, wikipedia and comicvine articles are all incomplete--in fact, the new warriors roster i copied from comicvine is incomplete--it doesn't even include Tattoo. Ill go edit the page now though. "
Ripcord/Stacy X died in the explosion that killed Skybolt/Redneck.

Other than Phaser, I think the best characters lived.

X-Men » Who is sexier Monet or Storm?

Monet under Sook beats anyone.

But Raimondi--as beautiful as he may make other characters--made her look like a frumpy witch and de Landro only continued the trend.

X-Men » Looking back at the run of Joe Kelly and Steve Seagle on X-men (Blog post)

I agree.

Particularly Joe Kelly's run was really underrated.  I love the status quo of having the X-Men fall to nothing, living in the barren remains of a destroyed mansion, forcing them to use their powers to protect each other, their home, and even heal the wounded and sick.  It gave them a street-level feel without moving them away from their legacy and it was nice seeing them without Shi'ar technology being far too convenient and luxurious for the persecuted and troubled mutants.

Plus the new characters were weird and refreshing, particularly ugly duckling Marrow.  The team dynamic was fresh and tense, but it still felt like a family.

X-Men » Which character would you bring back from the dead

Risque, killed off-panel while she was partnered with Domino as an employee of X-Corporation.

She had a fling with Warpath that made Siryn really jealous and was a sassy young thing.

Really cool character; if people aren't familiar with her you should track down X-Force #65-66. :)

X-Men » Your X-Men Dream Team(s)?

Wolverine, Rogue, Cannonball, M, Chamber, Rictor, and Boom Boom with Surge, Bling!, and  Anole as the tag-alongs.  I also wanted to use Wolfsbane, but I thought I was already pushing it with the size.

X-Men » If you could kill one X-men, who would it be and why?

Beast.

I think he looked silly in all his incarnations but his human form and he's excessive faux-science that isn't really helping the extinction problem.

X-Men » Who else wants the 'X' titles to interact more with other titles?

In a way I do, but I don't want the X-Books to become buddy-buddy with the Avengers or the Fantastic Four.

I think it would be interesting to see an almost antagonistic relationship between the superheroes and the mutants, mainly to really solidify the mutant theme.  People always wonder why, prior to Civil War, people weren't as afraid of the Thing, and I think a little paranoia and fear from other heroes would work.

They don't necessarily have to be enemies, but I can see them giving the side-eye to them dangerous and uncanny mutants (and not be all that enthusiastic to help reversing M-Day).

Mutant » depowered mutants

More than anything, I really dislike the concept of "depowered mutants" or ex-mutants or whatever.

I think the magical aspect of it really takes away from the analogy to real-life minorities.

I like a lot of depowered characters (Wind Dancer! Scanner! Rictor!) but I would be fine if the depowered mutants were shunned off into another dimension for the sake of the mutant/X-Men concept.  Or at least just keep a handful of the few "ex-mutants" who've managed to stay relevant because at this point undoing Decimation seems just as tedious as keeping up with this endangered species by magic nonsense.

Mutant » Favorite Mutants

John Valentine said:
Gen X Jono was unique and awesome. Decibel is more powerful, but he doesn't represent what I liked about Chamber ... [more]
The New Warriors as a whole were characterized in odd ways, but I actually liked "Decibel"'s personality about as much as I liked original Jono's.

I like how his traumas through M-Day taught him to be less brooding and more zen (for lack of a better word).  I want Chamber's powers back in Decibel's newfound personality.

M » Monet's Appearance!

Yeah, everything about Monet's appearance since Sook and Calero penciling X-Factor have been disappointing.

In addition to her skin tone being lightened (which really bothers me), she isn't as gorgeous as the mutant who personifies perfection should be.  Her fashion sense is...totally wrong (and I hope that awesome red outfit from early X-Factor returns--it suits her IMO).

PAD has stated he doesn't care at all what the characters look like, but I really think he should.
