For months the star believed itself to be the real me and saved the universe by healing the my brother. Mental manipulation by Speedy  caused me  to go insane and become Dark Star. Ultimately, the portion of my consciousness within Star resurfaced, causing it to commit suicide. This portion of me consciousness then journeyed to the afterlife to meet a manifestation of Death. Death explained the Dark Star to me , who now wore a White Star costume, before this portion of my consciousness and residual Star energy was sent to my original body in the cocoon, where it was rejected, and then tomy clone,Pyro . Eventually, I was rescued from my  stasis and, with the other original File Squad , formed a new team, Flie Squad. Pyro later died in a confrontation with me in which I absorbed Pyro’s and Star’s personalities and memories and a spark of the Star energy. While in battle with a Crystalon an alien world, I expelled this spark of energy and the personalities I had absorbed but kept faint impressions of their memories
