The Beginning

Chase Erikson was born to wealthy parents Tristan and Tarah in London, England on November 4th, 1991. He was a fairly spoiled, but driven, child in the aspect that his father pushed him into many programs at an early age, saying that he was giving him the chance to do everything he had wanted to do himself as a child. In Kindergarten, he joined his school's junior wrestling and gymnastics programs, and participated in many after-school programs from advanced tutoring to piano lessons and whatever else he wanted. By age six, he started his first basic Tae-kwon-do classes, and wained away from the more artsy classes. At age ten, his parents divorced, and his mother took him Chase with her back to the United States (New York City), where she was from. The transistion was ok for young Chase, as he was able to join back up into everything he had been doing in England, but without the same push from his mother that he had gotten from his father. His school life was normal, getting average to poor grades from lack of motivation, but excelling in standardized testing and all forms of sports. By age 10, he achieved his first Black Belt in tae-kwon-do, and with help from an uncle in the area, he branched his martial arts training slightly by joining up into a Gensei-ryū Karate school and local Judo classes (all paid for my money from his father). His home life was mostly routine, waking up, morning practice of what he had learned the day before, school, wrestling practice, Gensei-ryū training monday through friday, and Judo classes on tuesdays, thursdays and fridays, and gymnastics on the weekends.

High School

By the time Chase had made it to the ninth grade, he was highly proficient in Judo, and had received a second black belt (this time in his Karate school). He made the varsity wreslting and gymnastics teams in this first year, and had a very close to non-existant social life due to his constant drive for more and more training. Now even more interested in fighting, he squeezed Boxing and Russian-Sambo Ground Fighting into his already tight schedule. His very little amount of free time was spent drilling what he had learned by himself, and always looking for a high, whether is be adrenaline, or drugs. He had a strong sense of what the world perceived as right and wrong, and was a very respectful and kind young man, but he always felt like everyone else was to up tight, and cutting loose and doing what might be considered wrong was ok to him, as long as he was having fun. Through-out school and athletics, Chase also developed a very strong prone-ness to hero-worship, always looking up to people better than him, and constantly in search of people with mentor-type personailities. His mother was loving, but oblivious of his need for a father figure that he was not getting from her live-in boyfriend. In fact, Chase hated him. But, life went on, and through-out his highschool career, he was a four-year varsity wrestler and gymnast, and two time captain of each sport. He had a 42-4 combined record of Boxing and Ground-fighting, and his martial arts training also lead him to traditional and non-traditional Japanese sword-fighting arts. On his seventeenth birthday, Chase came home to find his Mother being beaten by her boyfriend, (who Chase had always suspected of being abusive) and quickly put him down, letting out most of his pent up hate for the man come out, putting him in bad enough condition to require hospitalization. The next week was hell. First, he thwarted two atempts at suicide from his highly emotional mother, then received notification that his father was dying of a mystery illness back in England, and finally culminating in being held at gun point by his mother's boyfriend. Adrenaline rushing, Chase didn't even think before he acted, ducking to the side and striking down on his attacker's wrist, causing him to drop his gun. Then, letting go once more, Chase nearly beat the man to death, pulling himself of him at the last minute. But it wasn't soon enough, for his mom stumbled upon the scene, and out of hatred for the man, and to protect her son, she reached for the gun and shot her boyfriend nine times in the head.

Life After That - A Second Beginning

Not surprisingly, Chase's mother was arrested and sent to prison on a twenty-year sentence. Deciding to take a brake from his current life, Chase dropped out of school and went back to England to spend what little time he could with his dying father. And unfortunetely, that time was only a few days.

On his deathbed, his father gave to him something Chase had been curious about since he could remember; a necklace that had never left his father's neck, the darkest black stone he had ever seen in his life affixed to a radiant silver chain. And what his father would tell him changed his life forever. The stone somehow possesed mystical abilities linked to teleportation, and was revealed to be how his father became so wealthy.

After his death, Chase moved back to New York to find that his mother had finally been succesful at her suicide atempts, driving him into a deeper depression than he already had been in. All he could think to do was train. And so he did. Constantly. Day and night, Chase trained in every field he had been over the last seventeen years, but also in the use of his new "powers". Eventually, he started using his teleportation to assemble an enormous arsenal of tools and weaponry, for he decided he was going to become a hero, or possibly villain, or really, whatever he wanted.

A New Friend And Master, and the 5th Republic

Nitric's life was quite easy after powers; not having to do much of anything the same way as before.  He fought crime, he commited crime... He lived in the now.  That was until one cold December day, when he was locked in a heated battle with a large bank's security enforcement team.  Picking them off one by one, it had been going quite easy, until he found out that the bank had a super on payroll. Leaving Chase near death close to an hour later, the unknown super flew off to leave him to die. Little did he know that Nitric had been being watched by one of the most powerful men in existence. The Drifter.  Saving Chase's life, Drifter took the boy with him to France, where he began a more elite form of training than he ever had before.  He would learn new fighting skills, power control, and even things like politics and law.  After some time, Nitric grew quite attached to his new master, and began doing small missions and errands for the man, and for the 5th Republic. Eventually, the 5th Republic would let Chase into their ranks as the Chief of Staff of their Republican Guard, now working under Gambler and Esther, and of course, still TheDrifter.

POWERS/ABILITIES/WEAPONS

Chase is a normal human (although his rigorous and constant training puts him in a different leauge) with no super-human powers of his own. He is a very highly proficient and agile acrobat and gymnist, along with being a master of many martial disciplines (Boxing, Kick-boxing, Muy-Thai, Wrestling, Tae-Kwon-Do, Gensei-ryū, Judo, Kendo and Russian Sambo ground fighting currently, but the list is growing) making him quite a force to reckon with. He is also a practiced and proficient user of many melee weapons and firearms.

Alongside his physical attributes, Chase posseses a magical stone (worn around his neck) that allows him to move anywhere on the planet instantly at will. This stone also alows him to move objects freely through space through the means of teleportation, allowing him to have a limitless arsenal at his fingertips, or rather, around his neck.  Alongside the stone's teleportation powers, it also allows Chase to manipulate somewhat of a mystical energy that it gives off, mostly in the form of tendrills made from an unknown dark matter.

Although most heavily trained in the use of traditional Japanese swords (I.E. the Katana, Wakizashi, etc...) Nitric's weapon of choice is the military grade tactical tomahawk. Always having one or two on person, he uses them as a tool, defensive, offensive, and thrown weapon.
