  • The Watchmen motion comic is coming to DVD and Blu Ray on March 3rd.  The DVD version will sell for (suggested retail price) $29.98 while the Blu Ray version will set you back $35.99.  Last I checked, the actual graphic novel was still only $19.99.  But it wouldn't surprise me if people spent the extra money to avoid the arduous task of actually "shudder" reading. Marvel is milking Obamania for all its worth as Amazing Spider-Man #583 gets a fifth printing.  It's looking like #583 is going to become one of the most reprinted Spider-Man books since Spider-Man #1 by Todd McFarlane (although at least #583 has a good story).  I'm glad this whole thing is has gotten people to support their local comic book stores, but isn't gouging fans like this going to drive them away again?  Oh well, no use whining about something you can't change.  Since Marvel's going to go ahead with more printings it strikes me that they are going to need help coming up with things for Spider-Man to say to the President on each cover.  Since I'm such a nice guy, here are a few suggestions...

Sixth printing: "Frontline's going to love these photos of President Obama's backside!"
Seventh printing: "Even though this is the seventh printing, it will still sell more copies than this month's Savage Dragon."
Eighth printing: "Oh, so when Obama promises change everyone's on board, but when Quesada changes my status quo suddenly change is a bad thing!"
Ninth printing: "Wait a sec... it was actually the Chameleon disguised as Obama on all these covers!"
Tenth printing (ape variant): "Quit throwing feces at me Mr. President."

According to Marvel Animation Age Greg Weisman has confirmed that production for season 2 of The Spectacular Spider-Man has officially wrapped up.  Without a pickup for a third season the production team has gone looking for a new job.  Weisman did not say that a third season was out of the question; it would depend on how the show does in the ratings when it moves to Disney XD in March and the availability of the production team.

Last season?
Last season?
You would think that with the show's strong ratings, positive fan reaction and Spider-Man 4 on the way it would be a no brainer for Sony to renew the show for at least another season.  I have a feeling that tough economic times are what is causing Sony to be more careful with their cash.  Spectacular might prove to be one of the casualties of the economic crisis, which would be a shame since it's the by far the best Spider-Man cartoon ever to hit the tube.  Fingers crossed it pulls through.

Has anyone found a clever solution to solve Django's lack of a "ready-to-go" signal? Something that works with both web and mgmt commands?
