Just kidding.
I really hope not. Darkest Night is turning out to be way too cool to suddenly become one of those lame gimmicks to bring back dead characters. I can see it turning into a Secret Invasion crappy thing where they use some big event to bring certain people back to life, but I really hope Johns stays away from that.

Good writers should figure clever and intriguing ways to bring heroes back to life, if they really feel they need to. The fact of the matter is that if someone put a lot of time and effort into killing off a character then it would be nice (and considerate) for them to stay dead. Bringing people back over and over gets old quickly and can kill off readership.

Cheap gimmicks, though they thrive in the comic world, should be kept to a minimum. They're part of the reason I've fallen off the Marvel bandwagon and started reading more DC, Dark Horse, and Image stuff. I'm happy with certain characters being dead. Once a reader has had the time to get over a death it's kind of cruel to go and say "Whoops, just kidding. They're alive again."

I was sad when the original Question died, but I'd be even more upset if he was brought back to life. Dead is dead, I got over it, let's keep with the continuum okay?

So rumour has it that Ryan Reynolds will not only be playing everyone's favourite Merc with a Mouth Deadpool, but the Green Crusader Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) as well. Will it all work out? Should fanboys cry themselves to sleep at night? Probably...
But seriously...it'll all work out. So says the video:

Blue Lanterns
Blue Lanterns
Okay, so here's the thing. I'm kinda bored, but caught up in the hype of Blackest Night too, so I decided to write a blog post. Hooray.

Now, I don't know about everyone else, but I would love a Green Lantern ring. Seriously it would be my dream come true. I figure I'm bursting with crazy amounts of imagination anyways, so it would be a healthy outlet. Plus being an actual superhero would be a bonus.
Anyways...
I figured that since there are so many other Lantern Corps out there I'd pick my next best colour. Just in case Green didn't work out or something. And because I'm bored. Did I mention that?

Blue.
Plain and simple. Being a Lantern of Hope would be my next option to Will. Personally I think that promoting Hope throughout the universe is more than a worthy endeavour.  I figure I could bring hope with me because I don't have a very negative view of life, like most people these days. Seriously, I'm positive to a fault.

Like I said before: with the hype of Blackest Night out there I'm sure that there are lots of those "Which Lantern are you?" threads and stuff. Don't care. Tell me which Lantern you'd like to be anyways? Why would you fit there? Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Indigo, Purple?

Did I mention I'm bored?

I love how Geoff Johns does Green Lantern. His writing is really what's gotten me into the whole GL series. I really enjoy his setups to reveals. Some of his stuff is really out there, but he does great character dynamic. I know he's not a creator, but he's a great writer.

Mike Mignola would just be awesome to talk to. I love his art and writing. He has the most amazing form of dark imagination when it comes to creating worlds for Hellboy to run around in. Plus his art flows beautifully with how his comics are written. He's a creator, though, so there. :P

If the comic is really really good then it has my full attention. Other times I'll listen to music, watch TV, or have a snack. Nothing really spectacular, though reading a comic while on a rollercoaster would be a fun thing to try. Hmm...
