Origin

Jayden Michael Salvador was a very hard working and disciplined young man. He trained his entire life in five different forms of Martial Arts: KFM, Tae kwon do, Eskrima, Capoeira and Parkour. He also was very well aware of electrical properties due to his father owning and operating a successful Construction  business called Savior Constrution.  After the unfortunate death of his parents in a car accident, Jayden dropped out of college and took over Savior Constrution by day. At night he trained vigorously in these specific forms in order to keep his mind off the tragic death of his parents that he always suspected was due to foul play. While he trained, Jayden mixed all the forms into a form of his own he aptly named Levis Tractus meaning swift movements in Latin.
Using his own style of Levis Tractus Jayden qualified for the US National Championship of Martial Arts. After winning that competition a man in a business suit that seemed to know a fair deal about Jayden and his family offered him a sponsorship to the World Championship held in the Philippines that Jayden reluctantly accepted. The competition was fierce with all types of fighters from around the world. Using his created style Jayden was able to decimate the competition because none of the men had a counter for his attacks and swift movements. After the competition was complete, Jayden was leaving the arena and caught in a heavy storm. Across the street several angry mobsters (from what Jayden could make out) that had lost a tremendous amount of money because they bet against him all charge him in attempt to take his winnings. For a while he held them at bay using his fighting skill but the overwhelming number of men and the use of fire arms became too much for the 24 year old to handle. Using his Parkour training he was able to maneuver through the city rather easily. He jumped into the back of a truck unseen by the driver and rode for about 10 miles until he saw a power plant and a farm behind it. With lightning striking everywhere and the mobster closing in on the truck, Jayden jumped out because he didn’t want to put the driver in danger and snuck into the power plant trying to use that area for cover, hoping the men wouldn't follow.

The power plant was a test facility that’s main objective was to solve the unsolved problems in physics, mainly working on housing antimatter. Inside the test facility there was a solitary room that was detached from the building. In that room the baryogeneticists and physicists that occupied the plant had managed a way to harness only a few antiparticles such as anti-protons, anti-neutrons and positrons. The room was also equipped with a giant electrochemical cell that powered the room but was strong enough to power the entire city.  With the rain falling hard and the thunder and lightning only seconds apart Jayden stood near a fuse box that was connected to the solitary room. Near there, there was two grounding poles in the ground that he attempted to pull out and use them as improvised Kali sticks to defend himself against the mobsters. Seconds after he pulled out the first pole, a RPG missile came from the mobster’s car area and barely missed Jay. The effect of the missile did in fact make a large hole in the side of the solitary room. Unbeknown to Jayden the debris from the blast hit the power cell and the mechanisms holding the anti particles. As the mobsters loaded another missile Jayden quickly ran into the solitary room for cover exposing himself to the damaged cell that was sparking and the antiparticles in the air. The mobsters saw that Jayden went in the room and instead of firing off another RPG the fires or round from their 9mm’s.

One of the rounds grazed Jayden’s shoulder and caused him to fall back into the heart of the large cell that served as a battery instantly being electrocuted due to the high voltage while at the same time he coming in contact with all of the antiparticles housed in the room. With sparks of electricity flying everywhere and Jayden’s body being caught in the center of it the mobsters left thinking that nobody could have survived that incident and they all fled the scene to avoid capture.

Rather than experiencing annihilation which would normally happened when particles and antiparticles meet Jayden’s body somehow became a conduit and was able to harness the electricity and the antiparticles. Giving him the ability to conduct and manipulate electricity from his own body that was now a scientific anomaly. He became weak and dizzy from the process and passed out cold in the room only to be found by a Filipino man named Manolo that was making his way back to his ranch to get out of the rain and saw everything that had happened from his farm the was adjacent to the plant. Manolo was a fight enthusiast and weapons maker before taking to the farm (he felt it a safer environment for his wife and 3 little girls) and noticed who Jayden was. After he saw it was safe and the mobsters were gone he quickly put him on his horse, getting a hair rising shock right when he touched him and went back to his ranch. His wife was a nurse but was unable to tend his wounds because every time she tried to administer the IV the needle would spark and melt due to Jayden not being able to fully control his power in his state. Manolo and his wife both decided that calling the police was not a good idea because the mob pretty much ran that town and it would lead them to him so they kept him comfortable for 3 days until he finally woke up.

Jayden's senses and nervous system were shot when he finally awoke but slowly sorted himself out. His physical appearance remained the same except that his hair follicles throughout his body were all turned into a gray color. Manolo explained everything that happened and Jayden was very grateful to him and his family. Wanting to be alone for a while Jayden walked out in the farm noticing that something didn't feel right in his body. He stretched out his arm and a current of electricity streamed out cutting a tree in half. He was in shock after what he had just witnessed and realized that he somehow was able harness electricity now. Jayden went to Manolo with the news and for weeks with the help of his new friend Jayden began to test the limits of his new found powers. The bond became real tight between Jay and Manolo. Jay was like a son helping him around the farm and Jayden gave Manolo excitement as he watched him train and learned new powers. This also helped Jayden fill the emptiness he felt from losing his family. Manolo was so impressed with Jayden's work ethic and training regimen that

while Jayden trained at night Manolo used his weapon making skill to fabricate twin retractable adamantium Kali sticks and a belt to holster them. Manolo said to him "these sticks are unbreakable, combined with your new found ability to conduct electricity and your fighting style you will be unbeatable"

After about 8 months from the day that Manolo found Jayden. The same mobsters came to the farm not knowing that the family was housing their once target. They came to instill a tax on the farm for growing crops. The men became very aggressive and began to hit Manolo's wife when she refused to give them money. The girls tried to her their mother but the 3 men easily over powered them. After a terrible beating Manolo and Jayden had walked in to see what was going on. They began to charge at the men with pure anger when they all pulled out guns and began to open fire one the women, Manolo and Jay. Manolo was shot down in cold blood as were the girls. Jayden took two to in the arm. He used his good arm to channel electricity from within his body to shot down all the men with  electric  blasts. 

He was distraught at all the death that had occurred within minutes. A fire formed around the house after his electrical attack. He quickly said his goodbyes to his new family and grabbed his belt and left the burning house. Before doing so he checked the mobster’s jackets. They all had access cards that said Hellfire Club that had a text in the bottom that read "In Gambler we Trust"    

After the tragedy that occurred Jayden left the Philippines and returned to the US. He swore to himself that Manolo and his family would be avenged always remembering that they always told him that everything happened for a reason. Like his new found enemy Jayden took a codename, Kurrent and began his search for the one they called Gambler finding enemies and allies along the way.

Mission

Jayden Salvador makes his money by being the owner of Savior Construtions but as Kurrent has dedicated his life to fighting for what he believes is the right thing to do. His life as a hero has been a constant struggle not only with the villains but with other heroes that view Kurrents methods in a derogatory way. In his spare time he reads the books of great world leaders to better understand how they did things. He applies a little bit of everything he reads onto himself in order to gain from their strengths and learn from thier weaknesses.

Mobb Deep

After the disappearance of Renegade Lantern, Mobb Deep went a little under the radar. The new hero Kurrent along with Morte Rapida and Acer rebooted the team under the slogan "Sometimes people have to go to make the world a better place". The three men shared that common belief and began recruiting strong and powerful individuals with their same ideals. As the team reconstructed, they fought against some of the worlds most vile villains making the cunning Gambler and his Hellfire Club a top target. 

Mobb Deep has now become a solid unit making the world a better place by using their forceful and non traditional heroic means. Under Kurrent's leadership they continue to fight against all odds.

Together the team fought many battles but like all things everything must come to an end. The members of Mobb Deep grew further and further apart with the extent of the missions. They no longer were a cohesive unit like when they first started. Each member had a different path and they all knew it so they decided to disband. They all left on good terms but only time will tell if they will remain that way. In his final act as a Mobb Deep member Kurrent sought revenge on the Assassin Queen BatgirlBabs by terribly beating her until she was left paralyzed from the waist down.

Vine Civil War 08

The US was in peril under the leadership of the manipulative Gambler, who somehow managed to become president of the United States of America right underneath the eye of the worlds heroes. A blow to Kurrent's pride and an extreme hater for the man he took it upon himself to charge on the White House and eliminate the "President" once and for all in order to make the world a better place. He was joined by a heroic group of heroes that fought by his side bravely. Kurrent appeared to have Gambler on the ropes and the light seemed to be shining on the heroes until the Cunning Cajun was able to escape with his life and his newly formed Registration Act went into full implementation.

The heroes scattered  some complying with the new lay and others resisting. After a long absence Gambler was to make an appearance that brought a sense of hope for change to the heroes again. Kurrent to charge of the resistor and organized an attack on Gambler again at Alcatraz prison where he was holding the meeting. Security was tight but it mattered not to the resistors and they began their assault only to be caught in an explosion courtesy of the Hellfire Club.

Some lost their lives while other lost their way but the task was still at hand and Kurrent would stop at nothing until Gambler was gone. After the explosion he followed a signal that was put in place by Morte Rapida who had infiltrated the president security detail. He found the signal to see that Morte's cover had been blown and he and Gambler were locked in combat. That was until a surprising "ally" in Final Arrow used his powerful sword to eliminate the threat and rid the US of the Hellfire regime. Gambler death marked the end of the tragic war and Kurrent and the rest of the heroes immediately began to rebuild and mourn the fallen. It seemed peaceful for what seemed like a minute but news of  an heir to the Hellfire throne and a possible resurrection of the King of Kings brought a sense of reality to Kurrent and all he could do was prepare to stand his ground and fight once again.

The Researcher Saga

(Controversial Chaos, The Gift and the Curse,..........)

It was a normal day for all when suddenly the Heroes and villains of the world we zapped into an alternate future by a being named The Researcher. He put the teams of Earth in a battle so that he could see who is the best team (combat wise). They were put in an alternate future of New York where all the people were gone and everything was abandoned and desolate but it  was an adequate place to carry on a battle. Kurrent split up Mobb Deep into 2 groups one would go after WAL and half of the Fraternity while the others would fight The ICE Dragons and the other half of the Fraternity. They carried on a timeless battle until The Researcher once again decided to change the time stream and put the Heroes in a world that was like a Villain paradise.

In this world the villains ruled and the heroes were incarcerated and tortured on a daily bases. Kurrent  found himself himself getting capture and branded in the face with a hot iron. The brand was under his left eye and it was the letter H which signified HERO. After a gut wrenching torture session he was rescued by The Captain of WAL and they began an effort to take over the prison camp and build an Army with the captured heroes to fight the villains that ruled. The inevitable battle came to a quick halt die to The Researcher stopping time yet again. One by one he return all of the people involved, claiming that everything had been a test. Also he said that something big was coming that would force heroes and villains alike to fight for not only their lives but for Earth. When he returned Kurrent kept all memories of what happened. He also kept the scar of the H that was branded on his face just underneath his left eye.
 

Veritas Inc.

Days after Mobb Deep disbanded, Kurrent, the teams former leader was approached by the Secretary General of NATO. They spoke briefly about an idea that the senior members of NATO have been contemplating. With Kurrent not being involved in a team NATO pushed for the idea to become activated as soon as possible. It was simple, he was to form a team of heroes and protect the world against enemies that were too much for the NATO forces to handle. They advised Kurrent that he was free to choose his team as he saw fit with out any questions from them. Their biggest concern was the safety of the world.

On the teams first official mission Kurrent found himself in England. The teams mission was to apprehend The Justice Lords that had somehow made thier way into the Vine world. As Kurrent and the rest of his team waited for something to happen at a black hole that seemed to be the portal at which the JL was traveling they were surprised by The living Legend himself Gambler. Instantly Kurrent and Gambler were locked in combat. After several passes and crucial combinations between that two of them Gambler had won the contest. Out of despiration Kurrent used a voice command on the teams jet to point all the weapons onto Gambler and told him that he had won the fight but he was still to surrender. That did not sit well with Gambler who had other plans and as he charged the hero to deliver the finishing blow Kurrent was left with no choice but to open fire on Gambler killing him on the spot. It was something that brought the hero a sense of redemption but at the same time he never enjoyed taking a life. As the L.A.S chopper came to the field to take away Gamblers body Kurrent was helped onto the Veritas jet knowing in the back of his mind that the bullseye on his back just grew a little larger.

Abilities

Levis Tractus -

This is a form of martial arts that Kurrent created incorporating KFM, Tae Kwon Do, Eskrima, Capoeira and Parkour all mixed together. His body is conditioned to preform the acrobatic movements required to execute these swift movement with little to no trouble. He is, as of now the only master of Levis Tractus.

Electricity -

• Conduct - Electricity is constantly flowing through Kurrent's body. He can channel it to flow out of his body in mass amounts or just a static shock. In battle he can chanel it to charge to certain part of his body and strike or he can command the electricity to funnel around an object the serves as a conductor. Most commonly his Kali Sticks.

• Manipulate - Kurrent can manipulate existing electricity (electrokinesis) by running some his is own charge through it. He can also make fields that can be used to protect himself or others. By electrically magnetizing the current in the field he can bring conductive objects to him or he can move to them.

• Travel - To get around Kurrent links himself to conductive objects such as train tracks and power lines by using the electricity inside him for propulsion. He refers to this maneuver as "surfing". While surfing he can travel up to the speed of lightning to his location but only on conductive material. In battle he can make small rapid jolts by using his electricity within to evade or attack an opponent.

• Recharge - His body generates an unlimited supply of electricity giving him great stamina but he can still tire out after using excessive amounts of his electrical power. He can recharge his body by physically touching something that sparks electricity such as a power line or a power outlet and with sleep his body also  fully recharges itself.

Weapons

Twin Kali Sticks -

The retractable Twin Kali Sticks are made from adamantium. In their weapon form they are 18 inches in length and in their secure form the are only 4 inches long. Kurrent keeps the sticks in a belt that has holsters for them in their secure form.

Wrist Guards  -

The wrist guards that Kurrent wears are laced with light weight vibranium. The primary use for these gloves are for defense against attacks. This is part of all of Kurrent costumes as well as his belt with weapons.

Brass Knuckles -

Kurrent keeps a pair of Brass knuckles in his costume. He uses them when he needs extra power to take down an opponent. Combined with his own strength and laced with electricity a punch from Kurrent with this configuration would prove devastating to even the most durable opponents.

Special K -

The Special K is an electrical ball formed through Kurrent's hands. It may vary in size and strength depending on how long Kurrent charges it up for. This attack was first seen when Kurrent did it to blow up a casino that belonged to the Hellfire Club which sparked the events that lead to the Vine Civil War 08.
