Sorry I've been silent on here for awhile. But recently I read my copy of Ghost in the Shell 1.5 (Human Error Processor).
Although I've owned my copy close to a month, I didn't unwrap it from its plastic cover until recently.
1.5 fills in numerous gaps left open from the first book, and towards 2. (although there is some time left open)
That aside, the art is still crisp, and wonderfully done. But there's also a change in the art style, its a bit heavier, yet delicate at the same time.

For anyone who's into Ghost in the Shell, or enjoys a fun cyberpunk manga, pick this up.
Plus if you're a newbie to the Shell series, you'll definitely want to pickup all 3 books.  =D

This summer I didnt expect to get back into X-men. A long time ago, Uncanny is what got me hooked into the pages of the mutant family. Looking at the years pass as they did. It seems they have given us rich rewards.

Storytelling and written words like no other. Its not longer the norm it used to be. the classic tude, and understanding is still very much alive. all it needs is readers to look within its pages and immediately remember why they got into comics to begin with.

Being part of a comic book generation thats changed over many years. Its something to come by an issue like this one. Just seeing through MJ & Peter's eyes everything about why they came together, and a candid moment that wasnt in the classic pages. They have been the duo that fought, loved, and cared for each other. Not to mention they are one of the classic couples to date. Even though stories have been done, and over again. This annual just grasps a bit of the past, and present. Its definitely a worthwhile read, and a must own for any comic book fan.

This just picks up right where #539 left off. But its been taking so long for it to be released, so its kinda frustrating.

Although this issue keeps the momentum going, its an going manhunt and we definitely see Peter's anger come forth. And was a bit surprised what the last panel incurs of Peter's emotions and intentions. Its definitely clear, the Kingpin is gonna pay. (but who is the real killer?!)

The art is fantastic, and definitely expresses Peter and MJ's torn feelings about the situation. Plus it takes chances with the fact of them hiding out, yet there are a few people they can trust that are willing to help them in this time of need. Hopefully #541 arrives on time. C'mon Marvel!

I grabbed this issue in a heartbeat at my fav comic shop. Surprisingly this ish delivers alot more than I bargained for. Not to mention the special fold-out cover (which is really lovely in a gruesome sort of way). Adding to the fact that all the heroes face their untimely turning. There is no escape, and this definitely gives it that notion that this alternate verse is bent on alot more. Although it leaves alot open for readers to interpret, especially with Marvel Zombies ran its course. Its great to see this "origins" unfolding, although in reverse. Just makes us all more curious how Ash vs the Marvel Zombies will end up.

When I dropped by my local comic store to pick this ish up. It was already @ their front desk. I glanced through the first couple of pages, and was amazed. This story, of the Surfer's last ride is really compelling, I couldnt believe this is a part of my collection now. I say for any Marvel fan, they must pick up this ish, excellent writing and artwork. JMS shines with the Surfer and the Fantastic Four. It really knits together how close this family has really become. But also what has driven the Surfer for so long, and his last mission is to say goodbye to everyone he's ever known. And maybe we might see a whole lot more than we expected.

When I picked up ish #104.. I was surprised how far they were going with WB. It just grabbed me right away, with the "passing of the torch", this is it, Sara is no longer the wielder, now Dani is the one. The past issues alone really give an indepth glimpse of whats to come, maybe a future that can change. I have always enjoyed seeing where the witchblade would go next, but this is very context matter, it moves so far and it keeps you connected. What's even more in-depth is the art style. Awhile back it had its rough spots, sure that was alright, but looking at it now.. its just gorgeous, every page you want to see what's next. On character design.. Danielle is very beautiful, yet she's also dealing with some rough times. Yet the artist treats her with care, and she feels human. Its unlike any other comic series I've really become a part of. Curious though what sort of energy the Witchblade sees from Dani. And what sort of quest may it lead.

What to say about #21.. its darn near excellent writing and art. This is actually the first time I've picked up a Friendly ish in awhile. Peter David is by far one of the most talented guys around. With his style working with an aritst like Johm Romita Jr. sweet lord its like they're brothers!

Dont let the cover fool you, its not Betty.. its actually Flash. A lovely black widow has him tied in knots at the moment. And the fact she's wanting to breed some of her children with a father to be. Case in-point lil guys are born, daddy dies. Oh and hey Spidey and the lovely vixen duke it out. And guess who wins?

Again, its a great story. And there's just too much I cant give away. It is truly Spidey @ his finest. Feels nostalgic.

Ceiling Ninja is watching you!

Seriously I jumped into this issue wondering wtf is going on. But caught up to speed (Bendis just has that touch, i dunno why).

For one, the art is actually pretty brutal here. I've never seen edgy art like this, akin to Ashley Wood (when he did the penning art for Contra - Shattered Solider). Very gritty, and dirty style.

Plus the team-up fighting an insane amount of ninjas within Dr. Strange's lovely abode is a neat touch. Although Elektra with the team is a skrull. Where is our old femme fatale?

I do have to admit Bendis is getting way too ahead of himself here. Although he tries to get an idea going, maybe he should have more patience. It may just be 32 pages with ads, but there's still some strength he can gain. Or just the fact he's burning himself out, just maybe.

Hopefully we'll get an answer about Elektra's whereabouts. Something didnt seem right at all. Smells funny. (no pun intended)

There's this story my grandma told me about her days as a youth. Finding comics, and just having a fun time. This is definitely where she was at that point and time. And I feel the same joy she still does when she sees a classic issue like this. I wholeheartedly think of my grandma when she got into comics. Its just so much energy, you can feel it wihin each page, panel, and character. It embraced an interesting time in our lives. With that said, Classic is a fun romp through the ages. I really like seeing old stories being bundled together with new ones. It gives up a neat taste of where we could be going with storytelling. And there is plenty of props to then and now. Hopefully we'll see more of these "Classic" issues. Because the golden age stories are not to be missed by this generation. Its a part of life, and everyone needs to learn something about the past.

200 is often not a number many comics ever reach these days, unless you're from DC that is. With huge buzz, and a long wait, the anxiety is over, the X-men move onto reimagined territory with ish 200.

After the events of House of M, nothing's ever been the same. Plus Rouge made an encounter with a dying alien race, and now carries their conciousness but ended up losing her own life in the process. Cable investigates an area left behind, until a Cajun in classic form comes back with a bit of razzle n' dazzle.

And to make things better.. femme fatale Mystique wraps a certain someone with her finger (and a lil more).

So all of this in a lovely nutshell makes up an excellent read. Taking notes from the classics, it pulls a few punches and takes us along for the ride. The wait for this ish has been phenomenal.

There arent enough words to describe just how much backbone this carries on its own, and another chapter of "Endangered Species" finds Beast asking support of a few faces you'd never think would possibly lend a helping hand.

Aside from the Amazons Attack rush, Diana's journey through a huge war is almost over.. but with a pricetag. More things come into the fold, and it almost counts someone closest to her.

Honestly I was a bit surprised that the writing feels more enriched with each ish onward. Jodi Picoult really picks out interesting and active detail with her flow of dialouge writing. It may seem in movement, but it pauses long enough to advance the change, and keeps going.

The art? Only the Dodsons' graze the cover, while another artist works on the internal art. Gritty, yet rough art style Paco Diaz carries on their own with energy that parallels with Picoult's writing in a solid fashion.

The big question is.. would Diana kill her mother in order to save mankind in its darkest hour?
