Shoulve done their research

In this issue Magdalena discovers the arrow how it pierced Christ's side and now she holds it.Honestly the art is the kind of art i look for in a comic the character looks cool and its cool how she protects the church but what is not cool is her bloodline to believe what the writers so blasphemly wrote just shocks me.There is no way that this lady is from the line of the tribe of the lion Decendent of  king David.I dont belive that the writers did their research very well.c'mon guys get with it.

The art is amazing in every way with exception of a few sections so why didnt i like this volume?
A. The Story. First Mary and Jesus never married or had sex or anything ridiculous like that. Second. This comic weighs itself heavily on catholic and roman catholic teaching. If the writers would have worked abit harder they could have been about the first church instead of the catholic church.Anyway, the big fry i have with this issue is the first and to believe that this is their daughter. As a superhero she looks cool and defending the catholic church is not a bad story element, they need some defending lol.But her backstory is what kills it for me.

Starship Troopers was a guilty pleasure and im glad to say so is the comic.Roughnecks animated blew me away adding to the incredible franchise, little did i know the comics would be the same. The comics dont have a awesome story but thats okay because not every comic has to.But it does have alot of action andit works out quite nicely.A pleasant suprise.

One of My Favorite DC Covers

Phantasm is a wonderful character that has been wonderfully explored in the mask of the phantasm film but in comics is nearlly hard to find.
Thankfully the story of the comics and the films dont conflict that much.Infact, tey are very much the same. Its not fair what happened to Andrae but
for the sake of a good complex story driven comic/film it just seems like the right thing to do.Besides the characters are all fictional,or are they?I have a Question kind of attitude about now. Will someone yell Conspiracy.

I know im about to start up a uproar of fans furiouslly seeking for my head for saying this so fans be warned you may not like this review.
First off i played the Darkness game on the xbox 360 and while it was fun i still had the same problem with it.
The writers are strangely attracted to the darkness themselves and its kind of scary atleast for them.
If it wernt for the that then i would like this comic, but the allegory of the four horsemen, the demonic intrigue,no way that thats cool.
Another thing,The guy in the toilet who gets ummm you know, well that scene was totally uncool.I know its supposed to be funny but c'mon.
I did like  the art as to be expected with mot Top Cow projects,i also liked the lady friend which our main character had a somewhat hidden sex scene with.
Anyway,im giving it 2 stars but thats not an honest review if i was completely honest then i would have darkness fans at my door banging it down.

This issue really sets you up for the next.Which is neat how This entire plot was a governmental coverup assisting Dax and the crew of the Defiant in every way.
Deep Space Nine is alot of fun and theyve allowed themselves to tell these kind of stories quite often.
One problem the volume may have slight occuences is to Dax's previous hosts which is annoying and there are so many charcters that sometimes a character may be forgotten. But they put together two great volumes even though the first one had its hit and misses.

Lara Croft is the adventurer, I ike how after she battles in the dessert shes then on a yaht enjoying herself peacefully. Then of course she has to go on another mission. This issue is alot of fun as any Lara Croft issue should be.Seems short and when the bomb explodes while scubba diving it leaves you hangin' but its alot of fun especially the front half of the comic.

Not as good as issue#1 but still good

Issue #2 with the exception of the party had one other unique moment and anyone who has read the issue will know adzactly what im talking about.
Remember when the car was split almost in complete half with the sword, lol.
Anyway,Issue #2 is alot of fun while the action is more consistent the story isnt as much and the art is still nice but seems abit rushed compared to issue#1.

Grat opening

I kind of disagree with Aztec,I like action just as much as the next person but i think for witchblade the story had to be told first and thats why i remember issue #1 as being a cool exploration of the witchblade and how Sarah deals with it.
The now late Michael Turner was artistand co writer and you can tell because story and art play a heavy role in this issue.

Oddly, the origin issues of Iron Fist had three different writers on the first three issues.  Which, I would have thought would spell disaster.  However, after a stunning first issue from Roy Thomas and an okay follow up from Len Wein, it's Doug Moench picking up the pen for this issue.  The regular writer on the first Moon Knight series, Moench knows how to write and this is a brilliant piece of storytelling.  What happens?  Well, and I appreciate how peculiar this sounds, this is kind of like a dramatic version of the Harold Lloyd film, Safety First.  Danny Rand is trying to reach the top floor of a skyscraper with the intention of confronting the man who was responsible for the death of his parents.  Except, Harold Meachem, the villian in question, is waiting for him and has contrived trap after trap as Danny ascends the tower.  And, actually, that's all that happens in the whole issue.  Iron Fist comes across bad guys with guns, acid sprinklers, a wolf and all sorts of other difficulties.  It should be camp, really, but Moench keeps up the tension throughout and the issue is a great read.  Perhaps most surprising of all is the fact that when Iron Fist reaches Meachem's office, he's, er, not there - instead there's some guy waiting to knock his block off.  And that's how the issue ends.  Heck, Samuel Beckett would have been proud!

dmstarz's favourite marvel comic cover no134

Another gloriously bonkers early Excalibur cover from Alan Davis and a neat, distinctive and original team shot.  Davis seemed to cut his teeth in British comics drawing unusual alien creatures (check out 2000AD's DR & Quinch, if you don't believe me) and I reckon he had a lot of fun coming up with the offworlders for this cover.  Love that Haiwaiian shirt.  Though I think what stood out for me, leading to inclusion on the list is the anxious looking Brian Braddock, seemingly caught short and pulling on his old costume, which seems a little too small for him (perhaps a comment on how he looked relatively slim in his original 1970s incarnation in comparison to the bulked up figure Davis himself was responsible for in the 80s).  Another cheeky little cover to make you smile.

dmstarz's favourite marvel comic cover no135

One of the most famous covers of all time is Uncanny X-Men 138 with Cyclops walking away from the X-Men.  It's been parodied many, many times since, so distinctive is the image, usually in other X titles.  However, as much as for the pinky/purple background as anything else, it didn't make my list.  Oddly, and unintentionally, this homage has made the list (when I say unintentionally, my brain didn't quite click and make the connection initially, even though it's pretty obvious).  What I liked about this cover in particular was the discordant image of a skinny, young girl dwarfed by the Doctor Doom costume, being abandoned by what is meant to be the most accepting of all Marvel teams (because they're family).  I wasn't sure who the girl was - it's Valerie von Doom, who I think is the daughter of Doc Doom and Sue Storm in a parallel world or something.  Anyway, the cover communicates extremely well the obvious pain felt by all - we're surprised that this girl is such a threat to the Fantastic Four.  Some good early work by Salvador Larocca.

I will be totally honest...I have never read a comic with Fray in it before, but I have heard of her and when I saw the beautiful cover of this issue...I was honestly excited. The first splash page should be made into a poster...the whole Buffy vs Fray picture is very very awesome. Sure I read one review that said they were disappointed with how little Fray was here...but there were so many other things going on that I was still very happy and Fray will be in the next issue too. Dawn gets a new look and the comedy ensues as Buffy and Willow go to New York...it is damn funny.

the Batman is complete disgrace to the original and shouldnt be allowed to continue. The Jay leno type Joker is like what, why does Robin look like he hasnt outgrowm his diapers and Batman never has the caped crusader look so toned down. This is a digrace and we all should be calling for the heads of the writers.

The film had decent casting but didnt live up to the book. The comic doesnt live up to the books either but its good.As a christian it means something special to me.When millions of believers suddenlt vanish the world tears itself apart.
Its a good comic way better than i expected but not a masterpiece either.Bottom line its good.

Why are super villians so dumb?

This guy is supposed to be a god eh?, hmm he is kind of RETARDED. Blah blah blah, is all he did the whole issue, trying to get the location of the sword out of Dara, but when (spoiler) Julie busts in, they have a conversation before Julie throws the sword at Dara, straight across Zakros.. as if he could not just take the sword, I can see a thousand ways he could've snatched thw sword right there, story over. But no wait, we're supposed to swallow that and listen to Zakros talk about being a god...

You'll notice I gave this issue a 4/5 rating anyhow.. it was good, but when Zakros is just so dumb, I don't know why I was so generous.. I guess it's the originality of it all, you gotta hand it to the Luna brothers, they are original, but spelling it all out for us hurt Zakros' character is my opinion, this and the fact that he should have been able to get the swrod from Julie, just undermined everything he was claiming, which what the Luna brothers were having Zakros argue.
