Vengeance stands alone, a scorch mark around him. His jacket is slashed up, and his skull is actually damaged.

Khonshu hovers behind Moon Knight Lockley and the other Moon Knights, they stand before Vengeance.

KHONSHU: That is because the Moon Knights are blessed.

KHONSHU: The foot soldiers are competent enough to handle themselves… but my most precious children deserve that extra protection.

KHONSHU: Once they EARN IT like the TRINITY.

Vengeance looks at Khonshu, clearly tired. Almost defeated.

KHONSHU: Today was a special exception.

VENGEANCE: hah

VENGEANCE: hah

VENGEANCE: you’re sick

VENGEANCE: I can taste the sick on you

Lockley holds up his sword.

MOON KNIGHT LOCKLEY: Khonshu.

Marc has his mask off, he’s clutching his bleeding throat with a clear look of shock and horror.

An angry Marlene stands, she’s dropped the bloody glass on the floor.

MARLENE: “All the comforts of home.”

MARLENE: You idiot.

MARLENE: Of course I’d break a MIRROR and make a WEAPON.

Marc with his back to the glass cell’s wall, he’s starting to lean downward.

Marlene walks past the dying Marc, through the open door, toward Blaze’s cell.

MARLENE: He’d never have been distracted without you. So, thanks.

BLAZE: Damn, lady.

BLAZE: I like the way you work.

BLAZE: Gotcha. No flirting.

BLAZE: Sorry ma’m.

Blaze walks out of the open cell as Marlene stands, holding the door open.

BLAZE: Even if I was kidding.

Marlene and Blaze are both looking toward off panel, Marlene is shocked, Blaze is ready for a fight.

BLAZE: I’ve dealt with this kind of sh*t.

Marc is standing at the doorway, leaning against it, his eyes glowing red. His wound just keeps bleeding, an unnatural amount now, like a waterfall of blood. He’s holding a crescent dart.

MARC: I am of the TRINITY.

MARC: I CANNOT DIE!!!!

Vengeance ducks right, avoiding Lockley’s sword.

Grant slashes Ketch across the chest.

Khonshu is forming above the fight between Ketch and Grant, like a dark cloud.

Marc hits Blaze in the face with brutal force.

Marlene looks angry.

Blaze’s foot kicking the bloody mirror shard from earlier toward Marlene.

Vengeance’s jaw unhinged. A storm of chains lash out.

VENGEANCE: PAY FOR YOUR SINS!!!

Moon Knight Lockley is impaled by the chains, through his stomach. He’s holding the sword up, as if he was just about to lash down again and try to strike Vengeance’s other arm off.

MOON KNIGHT LOCKLEY: Hhh

MOON KNIGHT LOCKLEY: Kkhh

Lockley turns his head toward Khonshu.

MOON KNIGHT LOCKLEY: My… lord…. It… hurts…

Khonshu’s face. He looks surprised.

KHONSHU: It… hurts, my son?

MOON KNIGHT LOCKLEY: Ye-yes

KHONSHU: Impossible.

Marc’s face. His eyes are gone, gore leaks down his face from his eyes like tears.

KHONSHU: You can’t FEEL hurt.

KHONSHU: I took that AWAY!

MARC: M…marlene…

Marlene is shocked that he can speak, and she looks down at him.

MARLENE: …

MARLENE: Marc?

Marc’s mouth as he whispers his last word.

MARC: sorry

Marlene. She’s in shock.

CAPTION: MARLENE: That was his voice.

CAPTION: MARLENE: Not the voice he had been using ever since he’d lost it.

CAPTION: MARLENE: That wasn’t Moon Knight.

CAPTION: MARLENE: That was Marc.

A crescent dart. It sits against a black background. It serves to show us the power of the Cult of Khonshu. It has a crack running down the middle.

Vengeance reels his head back, and the chains come toward him, with bloody ends.

Moon Knight Lockley has fallen to his knees. He holds his leaking guts in his hands, in complete shock. The sword has fallen to his side.

KHONSHU: NO!

KHONSHU: MOON KNIGHTS! KILL HIM! KILL THE SPIRIT!

Vengeance.

VENGEANCE: HA!

VENGEANCE: HAHAAHAHAA!!!

VENGEANCE: NOW YOU’RE SCARED!

Back shot of Vengeance. He faces a horde of oncoming Moon Knights.

VENGEANCE: Ah

Blaze stands next to Marlene. There’s a blanket over Marc’s body, from Marlene’s cell.

BLAZE: You alright?

MARLENE: No.

MARLENE: Tell me how to kill Khonshu.

Moon Knight Lockley has fallen onto his side. His eyes are closed, a massive pool of blood surrounds him. The stampede of Moon Knights around him is like a blur.

13.2

The crescent dart against a black background. There are two cracks.

13.3

Vengeance in the swarm of Moon Knights, at the center. His flame is an ember. He’s clearly dying.

CAPTION: VENGEANCE: can’t hold them off.

CAPTION: VENGEANCE: their blades cut the spirit.

CAPTION: VENGEANCE: coming to eat me.

CAPTION: VENGEANCE: damn. this is it.

The Moon Knights stand around Vengeance’s crumpled, burning body.

CAPTION: VENGEANCE: i really wanted to finish that pie.

Khonshu stands over Vengeance. The spirit of vengeance from Vengeance’s body is rising up toward Khonshu.

Blaze doubles over in pain.

BLAZE: AAH!

Khonshu with his head reared back. He breathes fire from his mouth. A ghostly after-image of Vengeance’s spikes can be seen on his head.

KHONSHU: AAAHHHAHAHAAHAAHAAHAAAAA!!!

Ghost Rider ducking under a slash from Grant.

GHOST RIDER: NO!!!

CAPTION: KETCH: Alone.

14.3

Blaze looks up at Marlene, who’s at his side.

MARLENE: Are you alright?

BLAZE: I…

BLAZE: Danny.

BLAZE: Danny’s the last Ghost Rider.

BLAZE: We’re f**ked.

MARLENE: But…

The bloody shard of glass is on the ground, peeking out from the blanket that covers Marc. It’s on the palm of his hand, which is also peeking out.

BLAZE: The idea I had… absolute last resort.

MARLENE: What? What was it?

BLAZE: We’re fueled by hate. By vengeance. By loss. By pain.

BLAZE: And, I guess, since we’re being wiped out… we’ve gained some kind of low telepathy. We can feel each other dying.

Marlene looking at Blaze like he’s lost it.

MARLENE: No.

MARLENE: You CAN’T mean THAT!

Grant slashes Ketch Ghost Rider across the face. Several bony teeth and chunks of bone fly out.

CAPTION: KETCH: oh god

Blaze kneeling down next to Marc.

BLAZE: My brother is out there alone, and dying.

BLAZE: I have to. There’s just enough of the spirit left inside for this to work. It’s almost gone.

BLAZE: I can’t wait and decide on another plan. This’s it.

Marlene stands there, watching, but yelling at the same time.

MARLENE: WHAT ABOUT ME?!

MARLENE: You-- WE WERE GOING TO GET OUT! WE NEED A PLAN!

BLAZE: This is the plan, ma’m.

Blaze’s hand picking up the glass shard from Marc’s hand.

BLAZE: I’ve been to the pit of hell before.

BLAZE: When this is resolved… chances are I’ll turn again.

BLAZE: And then I’ll rip my way out.

BLAZE: I’ve done it before.

Ketch has thrown a punch, but Grant’s caught it.

MOON KNIGHT GRANT: Though the trinity is hurt…

MOON KNIGHT GRANT: I am fueled by the loss of my brothers.

MOON KNIGHT GRANT: You do not know such loss.

The glass shard close to Blaze’s throat.

BLAZE: He’ll come for you.

BLAZE: Khonshu lives here. That’s why Moon Knight kept you here.

BLAZE: Probably wanted me alive to torture Danny and I together. Sickos are so predictable.

BLAZE: But Danny’s even more predictable.

BLAZE: He’ll come for you.
