RECAP: After losing their baby to a vengeance-obsessed villain, Patrick and Gina Mulligan were put through even worse samples of hell. Gina had bonded to half of the Toxin symbiote, becoming Malice. She was unstable, she saw her baby die right in front of her. She held his corpse. She saw his melted face. But she managed to keep herself together, venting her frustration and anguish by fighting as Malice. But then, a new enemy rose up and killed Patrick. Patrick saved Gina in his last act before dying. What remained of the Toxin symbiote bonded to Gina's half, and she became the new Toxin. In her mind, the symbiote was now her child. She strives to be the best "mommy" she can be.

Meanwhile, Jenna Cole has been bonded to the Scream symbiote for several, several weeks now. At first she was dedicated to killing Anti-Venom or making him suffer as much as possible for the deaths of her siblings, the Riot/Lasher/Agony/Phage symbiotes. But Jenna's hate for her abusive father has overridden the symbiote's desire for revenge so far. She's been on a city-wide manhunt for the man who drove her to drug abuse in the first place: "daddy."
