R.I.P. spoilers inside

The wonderous company I work for one day a week, Graham Crackers Comics, just released their review of Batman #681, and frankly, it's a horrid review. Take a look, the review came from www.grahamcrackers.com. I have no clue who did the reviews, but I'm positive it isn't any of the owners.

"Just as Marvel seems to be doing everything right, DC seems to be doing everything wrong. DC takes its most recognizable character and throws him into one of the densest metaphysical storylines ever. So dense in fact that I’m sure it’s turned off quite a few seasoned comic readers, let alone casual fans. This was a poor choice in story, especially coming off the success of “The Dark Knight.” There’s a fine line between esoteric storytelling and complete hogwash. This story was treacherously teetering on that line the whole time, leaving the reader never quite sure which way it was going to go next. And that would have been fine if there had been a satisfactory conclusion, but the final issue came and went and here I am, left scratching my head and doing something I never thought I’d do, cursing Grant Morrison’s name. Complete hogwash has been achieved. And (SPOILERIFIC ALERT) Batman dies in such an inauspicious and contrived way that no comic reader’s ever going to actually believe he’s dead. I gave Steve Rogers six months and he’s already beaten that mark. I’ll give Bruce Wayne 12-18 months to return from the grave. I doubt he’ll beat that.

Some may be wondering, "Why is he so pissed off?" Simple. I'm sick of these nicely laid out stories where the simplistic plot for the whole story is explained on page one of issue one (secret invasion, I'm looking at you specifically). Morrison's R.I.P. story has been confusing, yet intreguing. It's a book that deserves a second, third, and forth read-through. I can honestly say, after S.I. is finished, I won't read it again, there's nothing to it. Morrison's work is much more complexed, and you're not going to know what the hell is going on until the entire story arc is finished, pretty much after battle for the cowl. This guy also gave Ultimatum a 0 because he hates Jeph Loeb, yes that was his reasoning.... What a moron. I don't even think he read the book... at all. It's open ended, we never see the body, nor his actual death... just an explosion. I'm glad this cat has an extensive vocabulary and all, but he should be reading the books he reviews instead of "looking at the pretty pictures".
