For the most part, 16 year-old Billy Walker was fairly normal. He went to a normal school, had normal friends, and did the same normal things. It was quite astonishingly ordinary in every way except that he was gay. But really in a town as accepting as New York it didn't pose that much of a problem aside from a certain person. Rex Masters. Rex made it is life's mission to torment Billy. And of course, the powers that be just had to put Rex in half of Billy's classes. Meaning over 3 hours a day was spent with him. While walking to English one Thursday morning, Rex came up and knocked Billy over. Billy was a very light kid so he flew across the hall and hit his head on a locker. Laughter ensued as dozens of people stood and mocked him. **RING** The bell rang and the spectators all left for their respective classes. Billy was alone. Fighting back tears, he staggered up to his feet. 
 
"Hey are you alright?", a voice asked from behind him. 
 
Billy didn't recognize the strange male voice. 
 
"Ugh....I'm fine", said Billy 
  
"You just got slammed against a locker. You're obviously not fine. Here let me take you to the nurse" 
 
Billy turned to face his savior and his eyes widened. Standing before him was the most beautiful boy he had ever seen. He had short blonde hair with the brightest blue eyes Billy had ever seen. He had the body of a greek god and would most likely grow up to be one of those Abercrombie and Fitch models that always seemed to look perfect. Billy realized that he was staring and, being the suave guy that he is, said: 
 
"Ugh.....hi........oh wow....umm. My name' s walker, ugh, I mean Billy. Billy Walker" 
"Nice job dumbass! Now he's gonna think you're crazy", Billy thought to himself. 
  
"Ugh, Hi Billy. I'm James. I'm new here " 
 
"God even his name is hot", Billy thought. 
 
tThey went to the nurse and she checked over Billy. The entire time Billy was sneaking glances at James. He had never felt this way about anyone before. After this incident the two spent a lot of time together. A month later they decided to go to the football game. Billy didn't like football that much but he thought it was worth it to spend time with James. At half time James said that he needed to tell Billy something. They went behind the concession stand and James said: 
"Look Billy I really like you"  
 
"Wow, I really like you too", said Billy. 
 
James leaned in and kissed Billy. To Billy, it seemed to last an eternity. James started to go further and Billy broke it off. 
"James I can't" 
"Shut up" 
James knocked Billy in the head and he hit the cold, grassy ground. The last thing that he saw was James standing over him with a menacing smile on his face... 
 
Billy awoke, hours later, in a daze. The noise from the football game had long been over and all that remained was Billy. Blood stained his head and the ground behind the concession stand, where he lay. For a moment he thought it was just a dream, but then he remembered. He remembered everything that happened. James was gone and so was his innocence. He knew that he should try to get up but just couldn't. Tears streamed down his face as this situation reminded him of how he met James in the first place. He checked his phone and realized that it was midnight. He finally got up and walked into the woods that separated the school from his house.  
 
**BOOM** 
A huge crash came from just a couple of yards away. Billy staggered back, afraid of the loud noise. He heard another noise come from the crash site and ran towards it. He came upon a huge clearing. Right in the center of that clearing was a large, massive stone structure that had not been there before today.  
 
"What is this?", he pondered in his head. 
 
He walked toward it, put his hand out, and touched it. As soon as his hand touched the surface, the rocks started to glow a bright pink color. He backed away as the rock exploded with the intensity of a volcano. Billy had a habit of falling and this situation was no exception. However, this time he didn't seem to suffer any more physical damage (at least he has that going for him :). The stones had fallen apart, revealing a strange, pink rock.        
     Curious, Billy went up to the rock and grabbed it. He felt a sudden surge of energy from the rock flow into him. It felt as if his very bones were moving around. The room started spinning but for the first time that night, he didn't fall down.  He had about enough of this craziness and decided to go home. 
 
His parents were already asleep so he had no problems getting in. He went upstairs to his room and immediately fell asleep.   
 
The next morning was a Saturday so he was home alone while his parents worked. He still had blood from the previous night's incident so he decided to take a shower. Twenty minutes later, he emerged and looked into the mirror. 
 
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", he screamed at the top of his lungs. 
In the mirror, staring back at him, was a girl. She had black hair, brown eyes, and a very slim physique. But there wasn't anyone else in the room. He put his hand and touched his face and the woman in the mirror did the same. He soon realized that the woman in the mirror was in fact himself.. 
 "Oh dear god I have boobs", Billy said. 
Billy put on some jeans and a t-shirt and went outside. He (or is it she now....) deduced that the best thing to do would be to go back to the crash site where this started. 
 
When she got to the site, she saw a strange man looking over the rocks so she decided to hide behind a tree. 
 
"What could have happened to the Amo Crystal?", the strange man said. 
"....Amo Crystal? Is that what caused this?" 
 
Not knowing what else to do, Billy jumped out of hiding and tackled the man. 
"What did you do to me??????", shouted Billy. 
"Whoa there little-lad.." 
"I. AM. NOT. A. GIRL!", said Billy. 
"What do you mean?", asked the strange man. 
 
Billy spent the next half hour explaining the events leading up to their meeting to the strange man. The man said that his name was John and that he knew what was going on. 
"It was indeed the crystal that caused your predicament. But it's not as bad as you think. It isn't permanent. I have been investigating these strange space debris crashes for quite some time now. From what I have deduced, this crystal is from the planet Klovia. It has been known to change the genetic makeup of whoever touches it." , said John 
 
 "So now I'm a girl?", asked Billy.   
 
"Not neccessarily. In most cases the subject has the ability to change back and forth. Go home and try changing back." 
 
Billy left the site and on the way decided to call his female self Miranda, after his best friend, because he thought it was weird to call a girl Billy.
