When I was very young my mum used to buy me some kind of Disney linked comic. I was only 5 or 6 at the time but I remember really loving it and being distraught when it folded (after only about 20 issues). My mum replaced it with another comic but I remember being really disappointed with it. A few years later, my dad started buying me the Beano and the Dandy and my comics obsession really kicked into gear following that.
As for the first comic I actually bought. Well, I know this sounds too cool for school, but I remember a friend at school coaxing me into buying this amazing new comic that had just come out and had a cool spinner toy free on the front of it. I don't think I was that fussed on buying the comic but I wanted to do what my friend said so I bought it. That comic, my friends, was 2000AD no1.
