  • Love in the air for gothams dark knight?: this issue shows more romance between batman and catwoman (bruce and selina) showing that they are attracted to each other even when they aren't dressed up as their alter egos but then poison ivy is then brought in to cause trouble between them as she meets with bruce in the garden. not as good as the previous ones but i like how loeb is showing the romance between the two.

  • Joker's christmas carol: I love this issue. Firstly, i love how loeb managed to show a hannibal lector scene between batman and calender man. I also like how gordan brings to mind that all these people that are losing their minds is because of batmans being. finally, you have to enjoy the fact that batman isn't just shown as a thug but is also shown more of a detective role than as he ...

  • CRIME IN GOTHAM: this is a sequel to frank millers yer one. I think the pressure might have been on for jeph loeb to recreate the dark atmosphere as show in year one but i can tell you this first issue does capture the darkness that is gotham city. Sale’s style may not appeal to everyonebut to me i think it is excellent and it definatly suits this story. • IRON MAN VS CAPTAIN AMERICA: The battle lines are drawn as the conflict between    Iron man and captain america. Its hero-vs-hero  and its got excellent action scenes as it forces two former friends to fight each other. I didn’t expect the ending to be this dramatic. If you still haven’t chosen a side, I’d advise switching to Iron Man’s as it looks like he's got serious power on his side as thor, the god of thunder, comes out of ...

Batman laments his distain for the situation, noting the billions of lives at stake in each universe. He tries to join forces but the Captain can see no way to combat the will of the cosmic beings thats forcing them to fight. As the two toss their weapons in final battle, the pipe they stand before erupts with water as the system flushes out.

Cap's shield misses it's target, but the smaller batarang connects with Captain America's skull.
As the two are engulfed in filthy waters, Captain America is unable to protect himself, feeling the dizzying effects of a blow to the head.

Searching frantically for the colourful hero, Batman submerges beneath the water, finding the helpless warrior sinking. He scoops him, and returns to the surface

batman - he's master fighter and is prerared for all kinds of eventualities

You've also got to love the way tim sale draws the joker.

This issue helped change the face of DC comics as there has never been before this issue a comic that has pitted both superman and batman- two of the worlds most iconic heroes- against one another. the best thing about this issue is that batman beats superman up without the use of kryptonie which i think is excellent because by using krptonite to beat superman up to over used by some writers and i'm glad that miller found a way to beat him up without using kryptonite. I like how miller never once used the name "superman" throughout the issue. some parts of it is sad, meaning the part where batman "dies" but by far an excellent issue for the dark knight returns

This issue introduces catwoman and the corruption of the gotham police force has been revealed to the public.
In this issue the expressions of the characters really seem to come to life, their moods, and emotions are just as easily read upon their faces. this issue shows an excellent  gritty beginning of oneof the worlds greatest super heroes. illustrated amazingly in gritty detail  by david mazzucheli

In this issue we are introduced to harvey dent. I would say that the best pages in this issue was when Flass tells everybody about the operation and how batman beat the operation. then next cool scene is where batman plants explosives near carmine falcones wall and reveals himself to the criminals of gotham. The tale is illustrated amazingly in gritty detail that allows us to see what urges both Gordan and batman.

this is the first issue of frank miller's dark, gritty fashion that rings true to the evolution of the modern comic  . This comic shows both bruce and gordon arriving in to gotham. Frank miller compares both of them by having them comment on the crime and corruption that the city is filled with and both trying to figure out how to stop it and live within Gotham. Gordan gets beaten up by Flass and bruce gets stabbed by a young prostitute and then it comes to him through the window: a bat. this comic is pure legendary in the batman mythos created by frank miller, who writes with a great sense of darkness ,and david mazzuchelli, who brings art to match the atmosphere

batman is trapped in a coffin buried six feet under. joker turns on the black glove members kills one of them and makes a bet of his own: he gets out and brings you all to justice. he does just that. but of course ther's a chase and there batman follows hurt in a helicopter crash. everyone believes him to be dead. An excellent read as one of the "final" batman story but it just doesn't seem to have a real ending. but still good read tho

this issue batman has come to arkham to face the black glove and meets the joker once more where joker says that he will never really understand joker, bruce tries to save jezzebel but he is poisoned by jokers gas and jet slips on a pair of black gloves, shes in league with the black glove. This was an excellent read for me, but then i'm sure some of you knew that jet would probably be a baddy, i mean when she became apart of bruce's life we all knew that she would have probably been turned into a villain or she would be killed off. and it was the former. but still an excellent story penned by grant morrison and pencilled by tony daniel.
