The thing about Marvel's Ultimate is that it isn't made for the long time readers. It's to attract new readers, and it's supposed to be a modern view of classic heroes.


What it would be really be cool was if they did something with superman like what they did with Spider-man ultimate. I mean of course if you read Superman for like 20 years you are probably not interested, but if your new to comics, you may appreciate to have a all-new continuity, not a special 12 issues long, but a whole universe with a more modern view of the old classics.



Of course they couldn't use the All-Star universe, because the All-star Superman is completely different from the All-Star Batman.
