Who watches the Watchmen?... at midnight?  Several hundred people in Portland, Or., myself included.  Let me just say that I felt it kicked @$$!  I'm not going to dance around it, I thought the movie was done really.  Did it follow the comic book exactly?  No. Does it matter?  No. Was it worth he ten bucks? Yes!  The movie did what a movie based on another work should do...tell the story without the viewer needed to read the source material to understand it.   There was plenty of action, the fight sequences were great.  And I don't know if It was the theatre I was in, but the punches sounded ike thunderclaps.  The actors that protrayed the characters were great, especially Rorschach and the Comedian.  The movie made Night Owl a super badass, and Silk Spectre made yellow spandex work.  Dr. Manhattan was done very well, though I think they could have shown his wedding tackle less(this could also be said for the sex scene with Dan and Laurie).  R rated, definitely, and it needed to be.  I highly recommend this movie, and not just to comic book fans.
