Ancient Origins

Xantro.

19 000 of years ago on the world of Xantro, several Warlock societies formed for the sake of protecting civilisation with powers only known by themselves. One of these societies however, the Society of Arzac, didn't strive for protection, but their own pursuits of conquest (in fact, "Arzac" literally means "conquest"). Through secret and subtle machinations and agendas, they did their best to undermine the foundations of Xantro...only for all of this to fall apart once the Great Cataclysm hit, and leaving the city of Alarna the only place on the planet where life could thrive. Due to the shock of the people, all books of law and order, and society's foundation, were rewritten, with the purpose to preserve all life.

Apophis

Apophis.

The last living member of the Arzac Society of Warlocks, named Apophis, didn't share the rest of the surviving population's newfound ideal of life preservation, only wanting to pursue his own goals. Apophis managed to reform the Arzac Society, but at the cost of the lives of those wishing to quit. In time, the morbid, defiled remains of their corpses were investigated, and Apophis was banished to Duat (another plane of existence where only thought can exist) and his body destroyed. The Xantroan officials believed themselves to have successfully had the Arzac society disbanded, but that was not the case. The members continued to gather in secret for thousands of years to come, continually dodging the symbolic radar of Xantro.

When the Xantroan Empire begun to expand beyond the borders of their own solar systen, the people of Arzac saw their chance to break free and to pursue their goals for real. Through a secret ritual known only among themselves, Apophis was retrieved from Duat, and placed in the body of a gigantic dragon-like beast. The monster's followers would then attempt to infiltrate one of the interstellar colonies and later bring their scaly leader to their world of choice...a world that would once be known as Earth. Once released on the planet, in the desert land pierced by the mighty Nile river, Apophis seized control of the minds of the locals, not having been able to do the same with Xantroans (due to their morphogenetic abilities and immunity) and forced them to worship him and do his bidding. Had it not been for the intervention of the Heliopolitans, that might have continued to this day. However, the damage had already been done as Apophis had planted a telepathic suggestion in Setekh's mind, which would slowly corrupt him over the years...

A World of Their Own

Knowing that Arzac would have no success on Earth, they attempted the same infiltration technique again, on another world with no local sentient population. To the surprise of some, this actually worked, having made sure that the non-Arzac Xantroans wouldn't be able to interfere. The sand-ridden world circling an orange sun, that was to be named Trybos by the Xantroan Empire, it was declared independent and named Arzac I, to some lesser surprise than that of the conquest. To this day, Arzac seeks to expand their borders, with various degrees of success.
