you could take a minute to go vote for him and possibly leave a

national public radio show!

Surf on over to:

I sad I was going to stop The Runaways with #25. Then they had to go and throw that all out the window with the last page of that issue when the Punisher appeared. I'm a sucker for Frank. So I hung in there for one more issue. But I was let down today.

I'm a words guy. A well written story can trump the art in a book for me. However, there are times when the art just doesn't "do it" for me and it's hard to make it through a book. The art in this issue really just doesn't appeal to me. Let me say, I'm fully aware the art is much better than I could ever do, but it just didn't capture me and became a distraction to the point I was thinking how bad it was while I was reading the book, thus taking me out of the book. It's just not my style. Ex. I don't see the Runaways as a "goofy" book. I think the stories are (for still being comic books) more serious. However when Molly suckerpunched Frank and he was standing there holding his stomach, it looked like a cartoon almost. Totally blew it for me.

Others have pointed out how great the cover is. YES! It's awesome! But then you open it up and the art is a letdown.

I did make it to the end and the story is "interesting." I will give it one more issue to see where this latest twist continues and plus I think it'll be fun if Frank somehow follows them, but the Runaways days are numbered in my pull list.

It's part 2 of the "To The Devil, His Due" storyline and I have two questions. 1) How many times has the DD series or storylines featuring DD have used "To The Devil, His Due" as a title and 2) How many purses has Daredevil saved in his career. I think Comic Vine should have a page that tallies how many purses Horn Head has saved in this career. Total for this issue: 1.

Anyway, about the book, it seems as if this storyline is crawling along but not in a bad way. The tension is slowly being ratcheted up. Melvin Potter has obviously made a deal with someone to help him out and whoever "they" are they want him to return to his Gladiator ways. But this time they want a savage Gladiator. The question is who is "they". Matt's convinced that the Melvin is innocent, then he's not so sure. To make matters worse, Lilly Lucca returns.

I'm liking the slow build and I think if Brubaker can string us along for just ONE more issue, it's going to make the final two issues barn burners. This is why DD is ALWAYS on my pull list.

I love the Punisher. He got me through High School, seriously. I lived vicariously through The Punisher and he was my favorite character. In addition to Daredevil, he was the ONE character I'd buy any issue he was in.

This issue made my head hurt. It's told in a constant present/flashback style. Fine. Love it. The whole Pulp Fiction thing. Great. But this issue used it so much and without any defining "scene cuts" it was very hard to follow. It's still Frank and Frank always gets a few stars. However when you try to get "artsy" with Frank, you lose a few points with me.

I started heavily collecting comics during the very early 90s. I'm a fan of Darkhawk. I know, I know, but you like what you grew up with. Or something.

Anyway, I enjoyed this issue. Can't give it a full 5 stars because it didn't GRAB me like some issues of the current run of Daredevil do, but seeing DH back in action made me feel like I was back in High School.

I'm not sure about the whole 'drug pushers' storyline, but if that helps keep the series grounded I'm eager to see where it goes. The inclusion of local LA landmarks get points too.
