Thanks for all the well wishes on hitting 100 K. I've been busy lately : doing two jobs at work (monograph receiving and cataloging electronic resources), and getting a good start on my novel (a "realistic fantasy" where there's magic and technology set at the present time). So, I've been busy

I'm trying to submit here, but its slowed way down. I'll try to get through the comments and PM's too.

If you want something very wrong and very funny...


...read this or other Arsenic Lullaby stuff. If you're old enough and into cutting edge politically incorrect dark humor, this is the best you'll get in about any medium. Zombie fetuses, alcoholic donuts and alien cow things are just a few things. Nobody is safe and every page I've read is funny. Yes, every page. If you're a "mature" person and want to see for yourself, go to http://arseniclullabies.com/exclusives.html for some samples.To say why I like it so much, I'll tell you some things Arsenic Lullaby doesn't have. No irritatingly stupid or horribly self centered people ; a lot of comedies rely on these devices to make their jokes work, and I get tired of those types of characters and wonder why everyone else doesn't just kill them. No fart or poop jokes. No endless references to pop culture. No "look how funny I am because I'm nonsensical or weird." No dependency on swearing or stereotypes. No apologies.

Douglas Paszkiewicz has his own microcosm for Lullabies. The world is screwed up and horrible things happen, but it's (dys-)functional and valid in its own right. It's sort of realistically surreal with a lot of unexpectedness and irony in a matter-of-fact style. Once you read an issue, you "get it" and want more. I wouldn't want to be friends with, but I like the characters.

Don't be worried about the drawing, I say this because when you think of cutting edge humor, you'll probably think "Oh, it probably looks like something I could do, even if I were in an accident that would guarantee me permanent disability." I'm not too big or an expert on the drawing aspect of comics, but I find the drawing style unique and minimal in a non-cluttered, not lazy sort of way. This comic needs more recognition. Its one of those comics in which stores don't get many copies, but the ones they do sell out fast. Get your copy now and God bless Ronnie Reagan.
