My Real Life
I live in Minneapolis, MN. I've been hooked on comics since before I could read. I also love Sci-fi: Star Trek, Star Wars, Firefly, and Doctor Who to name a few. I am also an avid roleplayer. You name it, I've probably played it. I realize that screams 'NERD' to some of you...
Probably because of my facination with Sci-fi, I tend to greatly enjoy the more cosmic stories/characters put out by some the comic companies.
My Super Life
Once upon a time there was a deity who wanted something to do, she was bored, she was all that there was and she was in darkness and felt very alone.
As near as she could tell it had been dark for a very long time, since she had just invented time, she had a pretty good idea. So she decided she wanted to see what was about so she said, "Let there be light." and there was light, and it was good, but still rather boring. Now she could see the entire nothing around her.
Since she was alone she decided that she didn't need to be, since she was a deity she could do whatever she wanted. So she split in half and each half formed a whole. She looked at her opposite and noted how it was different, as it was examining her.
She realized in that moment she had defined herself as she now had a reference for comparison. The new being regarded her and said "We were one..." she completed the statement. "...now we are two." The two joined together once more in an act of union, and created a world.
She looked down upon their creation and simply said, "Earth", he looked upon her and their creation, their Earth, smiling.
They watched with great interest as Earth grew, the first life upon their creation was very small it was only a single cell, but it existed to consume energy and it was quite efficient in that, but it quickly gave way to more complex life, soon certain forms of life became good at collecting energy from the great source of light to grow, but even more complex life followed certain creatures learned to move about and hunt for food be it stationary or moving itself.
Eventually the creatures who made their homes in what became known as the forest gave rise to very complex life, these creatures lived in trees and were quite adept at climbing, these eventually gave rise to life that no longer belonged in the forest... these creatures began to build homes of their own away from all other creatures like themselves and in their hubris imagined themselves wholly separate and much closer to the creator than the others forms of life.
They began to lose sight of the natural order of co-existing with the others and quickly began to tear down the forest that had birthed them for shelter or fuel, they consumed at a similar rate to the first form of life on Earth, which existed simply to consume. This was Man.
The Earth itself responded, it created new life that had the natural coexistence with everything, but the aggression of those that they were made to watch. The land gave rise to Centaurs, Lycanthropes, and Satyrs and other of their ilk. Charged with ensuring that Mankind not lose it's way these creatures spent became worshipped themselves by certain sects of Mankind as aspects of nature, but other sects made war against them.
This is the world that Satyrquaze had found himself in. His earliest memories consist mainly of reveling in ancient Greece during the Dionysian festivals at dusk. He was seen as an avatar of Sylvanus himself, made manifest on Earth. It was a good life, he lived in peace, worshipping the Earth-Mother; He had his choice of women and himself worshipped as a god.
It could not last forever…
Mankind quickly began to out-populate their sentries and under a gross deception totally corrupted the stories of the creators handed down from generation to generation. Suddenly their Earth-Mother was a Man.
Mankind made war in his name not only on their sentries but on each-other as well.
In the massacres that followed the Centaurs were hunted to extinction. The Satyrs were nearly all wiped out, when their groves were destroyed or turned into churches. The Lycanthropes who could disguise themselves as humans suffered badly but survived nonetheless.
Knowing that some survived, mankind began to tell stories of the vanquished, propaganda if you will, how terrible and evil they were. Lycanthropes became known as the Werewolf who stalked defenseless children at night to eat them. Satyrs became known as demons. He began to hear stories about the vile and evil pagans who sinned as frequently as most pious people took breath, in these stories the prime agent of evil was a Faun-like creature who bore a striking resemblance to Satyrquaze himself.
He soon quietly disappeared from Roman lands. Afterward it is believed he lived among the Celts and the Norse for a time.
He moved on to Norway to live among the last vestiges of civilized people who were not actively hunting him in the name of the One-True-God. He was forced to keep moving constantly.
When the opportunity came to explore the very edge of the world, he took it gladly. He boarded a Longboat along with many of the Bear clan of the Lycanthropes and discovered a new land in 982 AD. Satyrquaze settled there and continued moving. Forming relationships with the mankind there that basis for religion was not paranoia and guilt or pitchforks and torches, but a spiritual one-ness with nature.
This is supported by the legends of Kokopelli taking physical form in the Americas at about the same time. There he continued to prosper long after the Norse settlements were abandoned. He soon found that he could never stay in one place for more than a century before the wanderlust took hold.
He traveled south, following his instincts. Finding himself in a crater in the Yucatan Peninsula, he was surprised to discover a pair of wrist trinkets imbedded in the very stone at the point of impact. They had lain there undiscovered for millennia.
Forcibly removing them from the rock was an arduous task, but when they finally came loose days later, he was so elated that he donned the bands immediately without first really studying them. He quickly found he could channel “magics” through them, create objects, create light, and sear the strongest stone. He also quickly found that he could fly faster than anything else.
As such, he has since wandered the world, staying out of the way of the nascent Church as it grew in power. Up until recently he lived quite openly in the US as a model and an actor, he has three albums on the market, one of which went platinum.
His drunken revelries have always gotten a great amount of media attention, moreso possibly than the when the entire planet is brought to the brink of destruction on a seemingly daily basis.
He had traveled this world since time began in search of the ideal female; it was going to take a special woman indeed to satisfy his hunger, or a bunch of average ones. He mostly comes out at night... mostly. He is as likely to rob a bank, as he is to stop a bank robbery to impress the object of his desires. He had no aspirations of world domination, nor did he see any need to protect the masses from harm. He is a Hedonist to the nth degree.
Satyrquaze is a creature born of magic, while not truly immortal, a satyr’s lifespan is not measurable, they simply live until they choose. he enjoys the simple pleasures that life afforded him he merely required two things to survive. 1) Enchantment. satyrs required some magic left in the world, it is very much like water to them in a vast desert of sterile science and logic. 2) Lust. Built for pleasure, satyrs were known moreso possibly than any other creature to seduce mortals into acts of pure crazed lust. True, a satyr could technically survive without this souce of nourishment, It's truly unknown which is more important, but some satyrs were known to have chosen death rather than be forced into celebacy.
He serves as the living counter-point to Spider-man’s motto. “With great power, comes great responsibility.” To which his usual response is: “Who cares, enjoy it!!”
Recently, he took on an appearance much more demonic appearance fitting with the creature the early Christian church created based loosely upon his image to strike fear into their worshippers.
It is not known why he has made this change, but he seems to have thrown himself into the role, and even has gone so far as to break every single one of the Ten Commandments sixty-six times within six days.
Last year, he searched the planet for any sign of another Satyr... and found none. Now resigned to the fact that he is the last of his kind.
He maintains the shape of the Demon, to hide his true self from those who would be his enemies.
I'm on my way to catching up to the amount users on the site... okay that just sounds bad.
I'm within 8900 points of that number at the moment. i just wish I was one of those people that seem to be able to crap out 1,000 points in a day.
Any-hoo, wanting to surpass the number of users with my point count will not only challenge me to contribute, but will also give me a number to pace myself against once I pass it.
Ahhh Du Hast. I remember that song. Haven't listened to it in forever though hahaI've never listened to Stripped though. Probably should.Yeah my sister got me into Depeche Mode last year hahaha :3
Hahaha Rammstein's not too bad. I just haven't listened to too much of their stuff for me to classify them as one of my favorite bands. But one of my absolute favorite songs of their's is Mein Teil.
thanks!!I think the keys to my success are:

the absence of a life

the initial two months I did not know the forums existed

I write as a hobby

I set goals for myself

I wish to expand this site as much as possible

btw, the fifth reason is why I created The 10,000
How's it going 'quaze! I recently went through and fleshed out Quasar #1-17, adding any missing elements. Created profiles for Angler, Ken, Kayla and her dad.
Thanks, hope you checked out the one with all the scenes from Generation X -- along with the one on my CV page, I think it's my best/most entertaining if you're bored, etc. ;DAnd congratulations on making #18! I'm afraid I'll probably slip out of the Top Twenty but oh well, it was nice while it lasted, lol. ;D
No problem! It's not like I did much, but I've sort of made the Story Archs section my little home as of late and as such I've been adding to, creating, updating, and prettying up the bios in there. You did all of the real work, so I'd say you should keep up the good work!
Rofl, yeah, I never noticed that my four favorites were a white haired person, a black haired person, a blond and a redhead! Neat! ;D And yes, I must contend, Penance is da bomb, to use a terribly outdated term. Thanks for checking out my profile! ;)
Oh, I've got plenty of those, though my focus tends to be on ancient ships, Greek Triremes, Phoenician shipping routes and the like, though I have to admit the romance of of Nelson's Navy remains ever green. I have my Dad's old copy of Jane's (from when he was in the Navy) I should probably get the latest edition. The Aubrey-Maturin books are also known as the Master and Commander books by Patrick O'Brian.Re: Fillion. I don't watch much television so I missed it. What is he in?
Hey Satyrquaze. Nice to see there are more fans of the maritime history on here. Have you read the Aubrey-Maturin books? I was also raised on Trek and love Firefly as well.

cheers Satyrquaze on
btw, you don't want to be like us...I mean seriously I'm a complete loser :P
I spend hours getting those 1000 points a day, its why I stick with 500 now
on May 9, 2008
Do those old comic book series that have a bunch of stories and authors. They can have 50+ points and there's no competition.
