Spider-Man x Mystique: Would they make for an interesting story?

#1 Edited by darthfury78 (793 posts) - - Show Bio

I have yet to see Raven appear in the pages of ASM. I could actually see both Peter and Raven working together as well against each other. Does anyone else feel that Raven would make for an interesting partner/adversary for Spider-Man like The Black Cat?

I would suspect that Spider-Man might have had a relationship with Raven before through her appearance as Mary Jane, Felicia Hardy, Carol Cooper, and Crissy Ironwood respectively. Does anyone thinks so as well?

Yes!!!! Let's remember that Raven is capable of anything if it holds her interests.

Could make for some cool stories, I wouldn't hate.

Oh lord. I had this phase once, but at least I had the common sense not to voice it out loud.

Would it make an INTERESTING story, yes, certainly. Y'know what else would be interesting? A nuclear bomb hidden inside a teddy bear. Should either of these things be done? NO.

How about the idea that Copycat is the clone of Mystique with Spider-Man's DNA! That would certainly bind Mystique and Spider-Man besides having a child they wouldn't know about.

Imagine if Vanessa Carlysle was created from Mystique and Spider-Man's DNA(From and alternate future timeline) and implanted into Dorothy Carlysle womb without her knowledge?

@darthfury78: No.Just.No

@darthfury78: We all have that werd comic couple in our head that most people would never put together. It isn't a bad thing, but you really can't expect people to be on board with such a random idea.

Can you swear at me and call me mean things, just so you can be banned and we don't have to put up with your insanity from now on?

What is with this guy and shipping Spider-man with EVERYONE...?

I have seen retarded naruto shippings that make more sense than this. ( and that's saying something)

I am just happy to see some arguments about this idea!!! If I was working at Marvel as an assistant Editor, I would be finding ways to put weird pairings into some interesting stories to read about. If everyone agreed with my ideas, it would not work. Would they? It's all about attracting interest to ideas that no one else has thought about. I don't expect anyone to agree with me. But I think that the idea that copycat was created with the use of Spider-Man x Mystique's DNA makes for a good story. Doesn't it?

@Ragdollpurps: it's called living vicariously through someone.

@Avenging-X-Bolt: I get that, I do that through Betsy. A lot of people do it, but you don't see them making threads for every fantasy pairing. -_-

I think you should. Your Psylocke pairings would be a thousand times better than this loon's Spider-pairings. ^_^

C'mon guys....Peter would be all over Mystique. "Now do Gwen! That's it babe..."

Guess who's number 7 on his wish list...

@CapFanboy: LMAO. Whatever you do Spidey, don't ask for Carol Danvers!!!

#26 Posted by spideyfan69 (170 posts) - - Show Bio

Either Ms.Marvel or Spider-Woman, but that's it. Also if Silver Sable wasn't dead I wouldve voted for her. but Mystique HELL NO!!!!!! Mystique would make a better pairing for Wolverine. DUH

#27 Posted by darthfury78 (793 posts) - - Show Bio
@spideyfan69: How about:

Spider-Man x Psylocke
Spider-Man x She-Hulk(Jennifer Walters)
Spider-Man x Black Widow

As far as heroines goes, why not expand the list to 6 who could be his close friends. Mystique is a villain who might have an interest with Spider-Man.

As for Mystique, I never said that she would be Spider-Man's love interest. But that's not to say that Raven wouldn't go in that direction through one of her disguises like Carlie Cooper or Mary Jane. Raven is someone who would find Peter Parker appealing towards her interest in a boy toy to play with. As long as Peter Parker doesn't know that it is her. Otherwise, he would avoid her as quickly as possible.

@Darthfury78: Dude She-Hulk and Black Widow are already friends with Spider-man, even though they don't hang out on a regular basis in comics, haven't you read Ends of the Earth, Spidy and Black Widow are now closer than they ever were before. To tell you the truth, I don't see Spidy being close friends with Psylocke because that is just too random of a pairing, and I don't see what they would have in common. Also I don't see how Mystique would think of Spidy as a good boy toy either. Just go to Rule 34 type in Spider-man, and you'll see all of your Spider-man harem fanties come true there.

@spideyfan69
Regarding She-Hulk and Black Widow, they have worked with Spider-Man, but neither of them know the man behind the mask, expect for Spider-Woman and Ms. Marvel as far as heroines goes. That is something that I hope to see. With regards to Mystique, I was kidding about the boy toy angle. But there is a potential story that could provide an important link into the history of Peter's parents connection to a major story plot that would involve Destiny.

As for Psylocke, I could see a potential friendship between them. Although, I'll admit that I liked Betsy better in her original body as it would have been an interesting angle for a story plot than in her current Asian body. That alone makes it very difficult to establish a mutual relationship between Psylocke and Spider-Man due to the fact that Chris Claremont switched Betsy's mind into someone else's body that is not hers.

I want to take a moment to explain why I want to see She-Hulk and Spider-Man in the same sort of friendship that he has with Carol Danvers. I always liked the idea of Jennifer Walter(in her human form) and Peter Parker hanging out together and talking about various subject matter on an intellectual level and was as both of them helping each other out. I feel that if Jennifer and Peter Parker got to know one another in their civilian appearance, they would become fast friends. I always wanted to see Peter Parker interact with the human side to Jennifer Walters, which I have yet to see.

Also, I did not bring up these heroines because I feel that they should become Spider-Man's love interest. I brought up these heroines because I believed that they are most likely to become friends with Peter Parker in the same manner as Carol Danvers, who is actually his first real friendship with a super heroine. And the Black Cat doesn't count.

I know a lot of folks also say why not add the guys to the list. The truth is Spider-Man has more than enough male super heroes who are his friends already. It's just the female side that is lacking.
