She was often confused about his plans as he thought on a level above her but still their alliance seemed to be true. Yet when he refused to save Rogue, who was in a coma, Mystique's motherhood instinct caused her to become angry and she pushed Sinister's face up to that of Rogue, killing him instantly. She then took on his form in order to gain the Baby Mutant, furthering her own plans, proving that she is the mightier of the two.

Mystique is Rogue's foster mother. When Rogue first made her appearance in Avengers Annual, she fought alongside Mystique and her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. However, Mystique let Rogue run to Xavier and the X-Men for help when her powers were getting out of her control.Now, Mystique and Rogue have a troubled relationship. Rogue still feels loyal to Mystique even thought Mystique doesn't always do the right thing, but Rogue's loyalty to the X-Men is stronger and has occasionally put her at odds with her foster mother.
